I managed to set off my 3's car alarm fiddling around with the car to see if it would queue up the update.

I rebooted my 3 as soon as I got home from work and connected to WiFi thinking that whatever process that checks for software updates would kick off soon after a reboot. No dice

Ditto! FYI, if the car's doors are closed when you reboot and it doesn't always pick up your phone, make sure it pairs before you open your door.
Touching. Someday. Just think of the world that it opens up to those who have mobility issues.
While your waiting enjoy. Still showing only 16 tonight on TeslaFi. Can't look at my router data any more. Night everyone.

You guys are lucky, I got the update notification yesterday was so excited too!
Then it failed(
I lost EAP in the process and big notice saying "service update required, call Tesla service!"
I did first thing in the morning, said yes there is something wrong, we will push a new update whenever we can no need to come to service center..
Then it failed

Can someone post a photo of what it looks like when the screen lets you know there’s an update ready. I’ve yet to see what it looks like.

I got my car 6 days ago and this is the first time I felt the need to look at threads about the topic. I’ve been on the forum for over 2-1/2 years...... did you need something?

sorry. its described in the owner documentation and its an unmistakable display on the main screen where you choose what time (later) to install or “install now”. Leave your car plugged in iif possible and be prepared to wait 30-60 minites for the update to finish before you can drive again.
We dont do anything except ok the install,Tesla pushes the files to us magically and whn they arrive the message appears.
Its like getting a surprise party on your birthday.... mostly good!

This is a pro-tip.
Service rep said to install the update with Wifi.
Maybe because LTE was only 2 bars in the garage and the update partially downloaded..
But 39.5 just came out! Wonder what they had to fix :/
Might be the AC vent controls? Lost some functionality there.
