The one complaint I have is, though the steering wheel material feels better than the yoke, it is way too smooth compared to the yoke.

Strange- I equate Alcantara to suede (although synthetic) in feel. Which generally is textured rather than smooth.

Yep. Every reference to the yoke has been changed to the wheel, including the AP nag which used to say yoke now says wheel.
Perhaps Tesla forgot to change the configuration of your car after the wheel was installed?
Did they relocate any of the dash items too, like the speed limit sign that is obscured by the wheel? Would be nice if they rearranged the display to be more wheel friendly.

No, nothing on the driver display or the main display were changed to accommodate the new steering. Just the yoke references.
Thanks for the info. Hopefully, they will get around to doing that. You would think it would be super easy for them to move those items around in their software.

Because that's what it us deep down. It's a yoke with top and bottom rails
. They probably forgot to update the programing.... another Service call.had the wheel installed and I love it. The wheel makes a massive difference (to me) on how the car feels, it feels lighter than the yoke (on performance steering option). It also feels like there is more vertical adjustment. Pic included for reference but it looks like the size difference is greater than it actually is- more of a half inch on either side. This could be what makes it feel better in curve and turns as well (size of wheel).
Now just paint the garage.
Needs drywall, paint and a epoxy floor. All things on the list.

Thanks for the comparison. How about elbow placement with the wheel? With the yoke, my right elbow just reaches for resting on the right side, so I'm wondering if the wheel would be an issue.
