Supercharger - Calabasas, CA - Commons Way (LIVE 12 May 2022, 20 V3 stalls)

The San Fernando locatiom seemed to have waited for weeks on SCE to install the transformer, so idk about 1st days of March.

I am not sure who is the electric company in Calabasas, is it Edison or LADWP? The one in construction in Burbank has been waiting on the transformer for months, hopefully Calabasas does not take that long.

Depends if the vehicle can handle that. At worse it would still be like a V3 ( peak 1000 miles/hour). But with a cybertruck or future Teslas with 4860, it might make a substantial increase from V3 rates.

It's Edison. Calabasas is the very edge of SCE service territory before it switches to LADWP.

It's more about the taper. If 350kW (v4?) includes a better taper, then massive improvement is possible. This would likely only apply for 4680s if they allow for it.

Perspective...Don't forget 250kW goes over 1,000MPH peak. 350/250 = 1.4x. So 1,400 MPH peak, but if sustainable for whole charge (unlikely) it would charge 200 miles in 8.5 minutes. It's about the taper.

This is where I want to see the improvements being made in the chemistry to allow for longer duration on the max of 250kW instead of trying to go beyond 250KW to 350kW even though 350kW is what catches everyones eyes.

Looks like they just need to install 2 more charger cabinets. The other missing equipment is Edison equipment. Then it's just finish work (asphalt/concrete).

I know Edison is having them relocate some equipment because they apparently didn't put it in the right spot. That was as of last week, not sure what the progress on that is.

I swung by yesterday and new trenches were dug next to the cabinets. Must be part of that relocation.

The closest one to you right at this moment would be Granada Hills Supercharger.

If my experience last night at the Granada Hills SC is any indication... there's certainly going to be a "meet up" in Calabasas!

Went to the GH Supercharger at around 7:15pm, figuring I'd avoid the higher charge and posssibly arrive with a few chargers available.

The station has 21 stations, if I counted correctly.

When I arrived, there were two Teslas waiting, and all charging stations were being used.

Fortunately for me, it only took around five minutes and I was backing my Y into a space and began charging.

However... while charging my car, at different points in time, there were as many as six Teslas in a line, waiting for a charge station to open up!

Yikes!!!

My home charger suddenly quit working night before last, which is the only reason I bothered to go to a Supercharger near where I live. I was, however, somewhat surprised at the number of cars charging/waiting... at 7:30, 8pm.

That being said, I am excited about the SC opening in Calabasas! Calabasas is about 5-7 minutes from my home, while Granada Hills took around 30 minutes each way, and again, it wasn't rush hour, it was past 7PM.
