You can tell it's V3 because there is a coolant pump located in the bottom of each Supercharger stall to run coolant through the thinner cable. That is not present on pre-V3.
Hope there is some number on them so when there is a bad one, you can report it specifically (instead of saying something like 3rd one from the left...)

Yeah, I think the numbering is the last step when they comission the system. Ideally, it would self monitor and check for both HW faults and other issues by inference (spot 6 has not delivered power in 12 hours whereas all others have)
