Having issues with severe condensation in my passenger front fog light. Was very subtle during delivery but a lot worse on day 2. The weather was even dry.

Submitted a service appointment request at Richmond on Oct 22 (earliest). Also emailed one of the authorised body shops but not sure if they can address.

The big day arrived this morning.
Took my 3.5 year old daughter and her car seat for an adventure on the train from Geelong to Richmond. After couple of train changes, some walking and a stop for lunch we made it to Tesla at midday about 30 mins early.
They were busy but all looked well in control.

Went through the car and delivery guy found one small dent low on the boot lid and marked it up for repair.
Paint looked great no issues that I could see.
Couple of panels not perfect line up but if I hadn't known about panel gaps being issues I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Fitted the car seat with a three year old jumping all over the brand new back seats and we were out of there.

Saw 2 model 3s on the drive home. One in Richmond and one in Geelong. Great big smiles and waves, great to be part of the club.

I got the SR+ in white and is just great fun to drive. Can't imagine what the P3 would be like.

After plenty of trips to the park with my daughter I parked in the driveway and noticed a more major issue which I'll log tonight. The frunk lid does not close evenly, it is low on one side and high with significant Gap on the other. See a couple of photos below.

Anyway still a great day. Can't wait to get some time alone to really play.
Best of luck to the rest of you waiting. It will be worth it.

SR+ Day 1 Pickup and first impressions.

We picked up our SR+ metallic blue from Brisbane Fortitude Valley today.

We arrived a bit early (15 mins) and ‘Sparky’ was just being moved to the delivery area. Yes we decided on ‘Sparky’ as her name.

Before looking over her we opened the Tesla app, sparky was already linked to our Tesla accounts and we could see she had 81% charge. (Cool)

The delivery specialist invited us to take pictures and then the scripted introduction process started.

We setup both Key cards and then run through the external components Opening the frunk and boot. Plus charging overview.

We then moved to the internals Opening doors, seat setup, steering wheel etc.

We then went through the drive controls. Forward, Reverse and park.

Then over to the control centre which all seemed very familiar (we have watched a lot of YouTube!)

After about 5 minutes of running through the car settings, pairing phones it was the visual inspection.

We were very lucky checking her condition, we couldn’t see any paint blemish, panel miss alignments, issues with glass seatings etc, but did notice a small hole in the fabric covering the front speaker grill. (We were told to log any issues via the app).

After about 20 mins after arriving we signed off on accepting ‘Sparky’.

We then drove out into the midday CBD traffic. All a bit daunting really.

The journey home was about 40 minutes. Enough time to get used to the regenerative braking.

During the first 20 minutes the display indicated that the system was calibrating.

The instant torque is very impressive and leaves cars in the dust when accelerating away from traffic lights even in a SR+. We can’t imagine what a Performance would be like

After arriving home we picked up our teenage son (he didn’t want to endure public transport to pick up his new sister).

After a few minutes we hit an 80 stretch and I gave her a poke., all of us were thrown back in our seats. We all had big grins. Very rewarding.

After a short trip around town we dropped off the teenager with about 71% charge and headed to the local winery that had a Tesla charger.

We parked up and plugged in the charging by just pressing the button on the charger. The charging port opened automatically and inserting the charging kicked off the charging process. Before leaving we setup sentry mode and just walked away.

Sparky was now locked and if defence mode. (So cool).

After relaxing over a coffee it was time to continue our journey. To our surprise Sparky had charged to over 80%.

On the way home we tried the cruise control, which seemed a lot smoother than my day 1 regenerative driving technique.

Arriving home we fitted the AliExpress boot and frunk mats which fitted perfectly. We also setup the QI charger.

Sparky is now sleeping after an eventful first day and feasting on a drip charge from our standard 240v outlet.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Does Tesla have to do some setup before a phone can be connected to the car as a key?

We’re having trouble pairing our phone to the car too. Thought it could be that we needed to reply ‘yes’ to our ‘have you taken delivery of your M3’ email. We did that and waited a while, but still nothing. Then rang Delivery Specialist who sounded to be completing something online. He said it would now work. Tried again. Waited. Tried again, still nothing. Rang DS back but by then was after office hours. Will try ringing him again tomorrow. How are you going Frodo?

Mine with white seats was delivered to me in ACT today.

Congrats Meowsers on receiving your new car. Hope to see you around town when you’re in Canberra.

In Canberra, had a 10am delivery to my house scheduled for today - no car, no messages, no email. I have seen an FB post of one home-delivery occurring in Canberra today.

Anyone else had a 29/9 home-delivery scheduled in the ACT today and success or information?

I just spoke to someone in Tesla Deliveries - some cars for Canberra didn't make it onto the car-transporter and were left in Sydney. Mine is one of those. Tesla slipped up by not letting me know.
I also had a 10am home delivery scheduled in Canberra. I stayed home for as long as I could but eventually had to go to work. After multiple phone calls and repeated promises to investigate and call me back, I finally found out around 4pm that my car never left Sydney. This is after my Monday delivery was rescheduled at the last minute.

Now I’m picking up the car in Sydney tomorrow instead. I really hope everything goes smoothly.

Picked up in Alexandria today. I had a lot of time to get to know the car while I was there because I think they had forgotten to register it. Not a problem for me, I was expecting it to be crazy busy. But things seemed to be going smoothly in general.

Car is amazing.

Two minor defects. Paint chip low on the front bumper and a small scratch inside one of the tail lights.

Great post. Yep that is pretty much where I am too after 10 days.

A couple of things,

- Re disengaging autosteer, I think it is best to wiggle the steering wheel first to disengage it then change lanes, rather than trying to turn while it is on. It feels like a fight and you need to force the turn.

Re the interior lights, I have replaced all of mine with the ones from Abstract Ocean, the boot lights are a big improvement, but the lights at my feet are possibly too bright now, as they are on the whole time you are driving, the old one might go back there. The glove box one was very hard to get out, and the replacement very hard to get back in, I found posts from other people saying the same thing.

My P- range at 90% is at 448km, and teslafi is saying estimated range and rated range are almost identical now. So 100% pretty close to 500km.

But overall, just loving it.
My P3D (+) range is the same at 90%.

Hi DavidRL, yes, the delivery lady definitely confirmed for Perth we log any issues with the car with the service department. For the record though, I listed the defects in an email to delivery with my discussion I had with them about the auto garage opener (confirmed retrofit at no cost when parts available) and the lifetime premium connectivity (silence on this). I also listed the issues I've found in the feedback survey I received yesterday (4 days after delivery) and is also the reason I publicly posted that youtube video of my defects so there can be no argument. In addition to being able to edit the issues on the account page, it is very easy to change date and time of appointment. My appointment autobooked on the 8th Oct and I can change this to anytime except 12:30 and 12:45 slots on the 7th or 11th and lots of slots for the following few weeks. I have changed to 7th Oct drop off as earliest available. Strangely, when I booked the 7th the site has greyed out all the slots on that day..but this might be something to do with it being a public holiday everywhere except WA. Also noted that last night I could edit the list of defects and type 1013 characters, today it only showed the first bit of the list I created. Now, when re-editting the list of defects, if I go over a certain number of characters (which I think now appears to be 256), the website reports "opps, something went wrong" and the whole site crashes after that. Logging out and in fixes this and now managed to edit again and save a concise list. After a bit of trial and error my list was done with 245 characters and the account seems happy with that. I'll report back after my experience with service.
See you there! (same date). It will be interesting to see if they can fix any of the issues (all very minor)
