Not that I am into broadcasting out of the front of my car anyway (never did it with the Model Y (just a novelty), but the way I understand it is, all one would have to do is put it in Park at the stop-light and broadcast away. I am actually more concerned that the loud, 1,000 watt sound systems that vibrate your bones are more distracting and harmful to pedestrians and other drivers. What is the NHTS doing about that? I know, I know, local sound disturbance ordinances. Ya sure. Good luck with that one.Must be a way to hack back into it
I blame Facebook.I must say, that I am encouraged by all the support I get here. There is a certain group of people seeemingky opposed to common sense here.
Reflections of society as it currently exists…
Agree! However, Tesla is not providing the loud stereo systems.Loud stereo systems seem a lot more dangerous to me than the purity of PWS noise when talking about safety.
Let's forget for a moment our own cars and imagine the entire car population having their own sounds. Imagine the cacophony on the streets. I think NHTSA has it right.
you mean like car stereos with windows open?Let's forget for a moment our own cars and imagine the entire car population having their own sounds. Imagine the cacophony on the streets. I think NHTSA has it right.
Like Musk said, "There is no dumpster for old laws, they just keep adding new ones."Yeah, but there are laws for that too I believe. If your sound system's loud enough that you can't hear outside, for example police/fire trucks etc... You can't win, there's a law for everything. If not yet, it's coming...
Yea, but imagine if EVERYBODY had the stereo on loud with the windows down, with booming sub. Or every car made its own honk sound, except that some people used the same sound when accelerating. We wouldn't know what the sounds meant anymore and all we'd be creating is noise.you mean like car stereos with windows open?
My horn still makes custom sounds on the newest updateThis is more than the PWS, I used to be able to replace the car horn with boombox sound as well. This was also turned off and has nothing to do with the PWS?
The button is actually still there, if this is being prohibited why not just remove the button "Replace Horn"?
My horn still does the preset custom sound I chose. Those EDM horns. After the normal horn sound of course. I’m on the newest update. My car horn will not make custom sounds at all. I select Replace Horn but as soon as I put it in drive it goes away. I think its only doing it to my custom sounds from the Boombox file and the Tesla made custom sounds.
I must have a unicorn 2022 MYP.Just confirmed my Tesla preset custom sounds do work but not my own collection from boom box. Those only play when Parked.
