The Bolt fires seem like only the beginning or tip of the ice berg for LG as this Bolt had the final SW fixes to prevent issues.

These fires are occuring *after* the car is done charging. That means the BMS believes the battery is in a good state and has put it to sleep (in a good way). However, seems that thermal runaway is occurring and the BMS is unaware. This is so bad I can't even begin as the BMS is the ONLY way to monitor battery health.

I really hope these cars are recalled or at least there is some acknowledged way for owners to ensure battery stability.

But it does ensure that a GM buyer is more likely to stick with ICE. Mission accomplished.

What should the shortz do this week?

If they continue to defend the SP under 700, they limit their ability to hammer it hard next week on the Earnings news. Maybe next week is "long" for them so they continue. But it's not working so well today for them, so what's the next fireline they need to defend?
I do not pretend to know what is the strategy of the shortz or MMs this week or any other time frame for that matter.
On the other hand, I'd like to state for the record, that I am quite OK with the SP moving up about $20 a day speed until the earnings report.

wait until tomorrow.
Normally we run up on mondays & reverse hard on tuesdays .. at least that is what i fear..

I was expecting Mainstreet Media to create a list of FSD Assists and quirks like this, but it's out so soon? We're over a week from earnings still.
The good news is that many more will hear that FSD Beta 9 is being tested, the movies have started again, and one just made it down Lombard Street at night.

Those Waymo fails are abundant and boring. But it's those Tesla videos that blow my mind by how quickly the future got pulled in. I mean... how old were you when you could first drive a car? And now how old is FSD? Does anyone see a trend here?

OP claimed to have 11 examples of removing radar caused problems. Maybe 2, the rest definately unrelated to radar. Motivated post.

I‘ve had this feeling that there has been underlying upwards pressure building recently.

Seems to me that there’s been an uptick of FUD in the last weeks and that suggests short activity. Yet, we didn’t see that much of a drop during the four day 4th of July week. I‘d expect some of the short trades intended to drive the SP down last week to be unwound.

We’re going into earnings and heading into the latter half of the year too. Not that I’m necessarily expecting a massive rally, but I’d be surprised to see much of a drop.

Then again, TSLA price movements have often surprised me and that’s why I just buy and hold.

Not advice.

I can confirm that structural battery packs with 4680s are already at Giga Berlin for assembly testing purposes with the castings.

This is from a source I trust and have confirmed reasons to be reliable.
Those packs are not manufactured in Berlin yet

Mod: Self-marketing material deleted.
Mod is being more than a little short-sighted here. This place is going to end up another investor Disneyland if this keeps up.

This world needs more plain-talking honesty and less tip-toeing through the tulips while not saying what one really means to convey. Our economy would be stronger, our educational system would be better and our courts would cost less and be more effective at providing justice. Musk understands this on a fundamental level which is a primary reason he is so effective and can achieve so much.

It isn't the mods fault that the poster violated the TOS that the site owners have set that precludes them from posting links driving people to their own, paid, content. And the reason he claimed for it is nonsense; putting a leak behind a paywall does nothing to protect Tesla or his source. (Bad actors, and Tesla if they want to stop leaks, would have no problem paying for one-time access to get what they need.)

You're right, it's not the mods fault someone went into a grey area anymore than it's the policeman's fault I jaywalked.

I've jaywalked in front of policeman hundreds of times.

Frankly I disagree. If anybody wants to make self-promotional comments they can pay for a sponsored link. I really like Alex' insights, for which I pay. That is a commercial relationship. So, too, is TMC.
It is ever thus. as with TSLA, we all should pay to play.

After watching the FSD v9 videos, I’m glad it’s not public beta yet. I was jelly and wanting ”the button” myself….not anymore. There’s still a lot of work to be done. I don’t know how quickly it happens, but the videos I watched showed me that this product is NOT ready for the general masses today. What the AI team has accomplished so far is impressive, but still seems like a long way to go unfortunately (IMO). I do hope to see rapid progress, but at this point don’t know what to expect. Let’s say it’s definitely more than “2 weeks” away.
You are not factually incorrect, that there is still work to be done. And that will be true for the next 20 years. There will be a scenario that it will find difficult and disengage. This is the difference between someone who is perennially unsatisfied with anything, a Debbie downer who fails to see progress - and - someone who with a positive outlooks that says, 'hey this can drive me around in 50% of my routes and the rest I will drive (for now)'.

5 months ago there was NO car anywhere in the world that customers can buy that will drive itself and take right and left turns, go around roundabouts, go around double parked cars, get into the parking lot and stop in front of the destination. Today we have one that does that for most straightforward situations but struggles in many road conditions that are congested, poor visibility (for turns), confusing lane markers, incorrect map data etc.. Sure but if it works for 50% of my trips (with the hope that the other 50% will gradually work over next several months and years) - that is a HUGE plus. For those in NYC and downtown SF, that is probably only 30% of the routes that work. For those in Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix and many many other sprawling cities and suburbs that ratio is much higher. Maybe as high as 70%.

Anyone that can't see this as a great progress that is useful for many people in many situations today, need to get a reality check.

I have seen this same whining when AP was first introduced. Oh, it can't do this, it can't do that. But AP even in its first iteration was a great life saver on long slow highway commutes. It was God send for people like me who sat on traffic one hour each way, everyday.

Everybody wants to be an "insider" these days and get paid for it. I remember the first week ValueAnalyst showed up here and said he was looking to learn everything possible from this board so he could then monetize it. So annoying.

Obviously not all "insiders" or "analysts" are as annoying as VA, but it's best to just draw a hard line and not allow any uninvited self-linking whatsoever.

It's like the community police... about every street I've ever lived on. 👮‍♀️"I'm calling the HOA! You're gonna get a letter soon!" 👮‍♂️
