Without a heat pump, how would the vehicle's air conditioning system be able to provide air at temperatures below ambient?
Perhaps not in Germany, but typically in the U.S. the mechanism to chill air is called "air conditioning", and a "heat pump" is using the same principles in reverse to heat air. This is as opposed to the resistive heating elements that Tesla employs.

From a technical perspective certainly air-conditioning is indeed a heat pump, but calling it that would just confuse people.

See the many threads here on "Why doesn't Tesla implement a heat pump in their cars?"

Volkswagen's Electricity Price Undercuts Tesla's Superchargers By 35% To 66% - Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) | Seeking Alpha

Right off the bat, is he assuming a constant kW charge rate regardless of SoC? I love him.

FUDsters really working their magic today. Detroit Auto Show proves that EVs are the future. Traditional auto manufacturers basically admitting that Tesla is the company they want to emulate and that Tesla is far ahead of them. Traditional auto manufacturers also admitting that they will need to spend billions of dollars to TRY to catch up to Tesla, and then the traditional auto manufacturers make claims about possible future models, but they do not have any actual product yet to truly directly compete with Tesla. Yet, Tesla, which has the mass market car, has the high-end car, has an amazing SUV, has a charging network in place, now seems to know how to mass produce a relatively moderately priced EV, is selling tens of thousands of cars each month, has actually shown some great future products, etc, gets hammered in the markets. If one looks at the news coming out of Detroit, seem like the arguments that the shorts and media have been using against Tesla actually apply to the traditional auto manufacturers. Yet, somehow the FUDsters have managed to get headlines (which get picked up by the algos) and spin the news in a way that is a positive for the traditional auto manufacturers and a negative for Tesla. Just when I thought I had seen everything from these charlatans . . .

N2Kindle on Twitter

thoughts on this? Someone posted a link of the tesla configurator showing Model S standard range with 390 miles. Not sure if legit or not. I would expect the standard range model to be the 100 kWh model and stay at 335 miles...

It's showing the 0-60 as 2.5 seconds for a RWD model, so it's almost certainly a hoax.

Production of Ford's Transit van will switch from Swaythling in Southampton to Turkey [PA]

The vehicle manufacturer received cash from the regional growth fund (RGF) to help develop its Dagenham base, and was given an £80 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for its factory in Turkey, before revealing it would shut its plant at Swaythling in Southampton.

Production of Ford's Transit van will switch from Swaythling to Turkey, having been based in Southampton - the company's last UK vehicle assembly plant - for 40 years.

The Government said the regional growth fund cash helped protect jobs - and argued the money could still have been granted even if ministers knew about the plan to shut Swaythling next July. But Labour's former innovation and skills secretary John Denham, MP for Southampton Itchen, said: "It is extraordinary that a regional growth fund grant was made to Ford without the Government being aware of the wider Ford strategy. NB. @2% interest over a norm of 9%. At the time, looks like a bribe to me:oops:

Ford also took 5.9B from DOE: FORD | Department of Energy

Money well spent and paid back yet?

Dana was fishing for dirt - asking laid off SpaceX employees to reach out to her - so that she can blow it into a mountain.

I have little respect and regard for elks of Dana Hill, Laura Klodney, Charles Grant or Linette Lopez. I think they are more scummier than Mark BS. Atleast Mark BS is a short seller, so we expect him to lie and be dishonest - a trait expected of all short sellers. But these so called journalists are expected to be unbiased and whatever they write is taken more seriously than the twitter feeds of short sellers and their friends. They hide behind and use the power of MSM to do the same shenanigans of the short sellers. That is despicable behavior.

@bonnie blocked me from Twitter because I disparaged Dana and Laura on her twitter feed. That is fine. I just follow @Reciprocity and that is all the news I need for Tesla.
Dana lives in Oakland. For that fact alone I respect her o_O Or feel sorry

What is Netflix's moat?
Reed Hastings(like someone had mentioned, more of a Bill Gates rather than Steve Jobs)
Original Contents, could be like Disney 5/10yrs down the road who knows.
First mover advantage streaming service just like TSLA with ev
Of course not as great as Tesla moat but those are just a few and the reason why I own TSLA and NFLX both b/c i can see both still relevance 10 years from now.

So if the nsdq moves 2% we’re going to see 5% in TSLA?

We had seen this happened before so i wouldnt be surprise.

The outcome of the vote is already known. Don't expect it to move (US) markets much.

The outcome of the vote is known, but the devil is in the details. In particular, will they amend it before they send it back? If so, what will they amend it to, and when will this happen? If they don't amend it, then what will May do? The full range of possibilities is in the cards.

Hard to believe that Tamberrino is taken seriously by anyone, but his periodic sell reports are a dog whistle to shorts to pile on.

Playing this game is going to get a lot harder after consecutive profitable quarters. That won’t stop the most reckless from playing, but you know what they say about fools and their money.

Bearish talk about Tesla is just about given a police escort through big media.

This is how Lutz, Chanos, various bearish analysts, etc., repeatedly can pound their latest version of their bear narratives without there ever being any mention of how their many past Tesla forecasts proved to be nonsense.

At the same time, when a Ron Baron, or a bullish analyst appears on big media "but, aren't you concerned about smoking pot on air, 'competition,' a capital raise, the sky high valuation, and on and on..."
