Investing in TSLA never be in a dull moment for too long. if SP stays stagnant at all, it's for a short period, and news such as sale numbers, earnings, etc came in to fuel the SP higher. The longest sluggish period was the last few weeks, and then boom Elon created excitements out of thin air, and here we go again!

Yeah. Profitable quarter during pandemic = nothing. "Meaningless" stock split = 20% gain.

If that pattern holds, S&P should be epic, but Q3 delivery/earning, meh.

Then why aren't the record date and distribution date on consecutive business days?

This has to do with who is responsible for tracking the trade. Tesla is responsible up to the record date. Brokers are responsible between record date and split date. No other real reason behind that.

Then all the brokerages and issuer would need to stay all night to do the behind the screen work.
This way the brokerages report their holdings and the issuer prepares all the distribution ahead of time. After that day, the brokerages track net trades to square up post event.

Amazing how such a non-event as a stock split announcement causes this stock to take off. It’s like the SP is a supersaturated solution and all it takes is a little ‘seed’ to crystallize the whole thing. And this is before battery day / S&P 500/ Plaid announcements. Hold on for the ride.

Crazy, #14/8 c1545's that were worth $200 on Tuesday, and I had written-off, just executed for $20k

I just got out of some 1740 calls for tomorrow I'd gotten a couple weeks back that were down like 98% a couple days ago for a tiny profit.



ALSO! Right near the peak a few minutes ago was able to sell sold a covered call for $1850 expiring tomorrow for almost 500 bucks.


So that guarantees S&P announcement tonight... YOU ARE WELCOME.

I think that's actually a good thing. Tesla's been to $400 before whereas $2,000 is still a pie in the sky for many people. Less resistance.

I'm honestly wondering if a 5:1 split was not enough...maybe a 7 or 8:1 split would have been better.

You are not the only one wondering. Remember that Adam Jonas was expecting 1:165 split.

Some people simply think hundreds of steps ahead of everyone.

Couldn't sleep well because I kept dreaming (literrally) TSLA reached 1852 AFTER split, and in the dream I reached financial freedom.

Reality: got up and sold 3 shares I bought at 1640 during last rally for $1642.
They were in IRA account so I am waiting for a better price.
