Getting it now. Smart summon (fw prior to this) worked for about 50 yards in my near empty office lot until it decided it wanted to head smack towards the front end of one of the very few parked cars at which point I aborted the operation.

No, it is V10, it is just that Smart Summon hasn't been released in Canada. (Probably not approved by the authorities yet.)

Better receivers use more power. Poor choice of words on my part. Manufacturers use antennas that provide decent (but not great) reception in order to not have GPS be a big drain on battery. These antennas draw less power and will require more time to lock on to more satellites. Poor weather also affects phone GPS antennas more because their ability to receive signals is already subpar.

I was just confused because last year I put a gps chip into a product for a client. 24 channels GPS, Galileo, QZSS, SBAS and uses only 125 milliWatts of power in a 3 inch square package with NO external antennas and it works great, highly accurate. Thus, puzzled why some phones can't do better. Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

hmmmm, I assume you know that Bluetooth is only rated for 10 meters (33 feet), yet the car comes and finds me up to 200 feet away. And I don't have BT turned on. Maybe I am misunderstanding your point.

Those fellas have it wrong. The car uses your GPS from your phone on “Come to me” or the car’s GPS for the target. It doesn’t even need Bluetooth.

A 3 inch square package is huge to try to fit into a phone.

That depends on the third dimension. 3" x 3" x 1/8" is a much larger ask than 3" x 3' x 1/32". But at that scale who is using inches anyhow?

I have the very basic Model 3..standard range, Partial Premium Interior, Autopilot...will I get Spotify or no? I would like to have some type streaming service outside of my phone, etc. Thoughts?

Got it yesterday. Haven't had time to test all of the features but I did advanced summons yesterday and the connection to the car kept breaking, and as the car was in the middle of the lot, i gave up and walked to it. This is not to say that advanced summons is faulty but that I need more time with it so make sure I'm using it correctly.

Montreal, Quebec Downloading v10 now. Was 32.1 yesterday and was false start for v10 as it was just 32.2.

Now pretty sure it's v10.

SR+ FSD purchased with M3 and delivered May 2019 with HW3.

if you are wondering smart summon is not even mentioned in software release notes so definitely not there in 32.11. Pray you get 32.10

yes, agree. My portion of the gps chip was small and flat. It actually will fit into something like a smart phone and may be in one for all I know. It was the rest of the crap they wanted in that space that consumed the volume.

ha ha, you have an eye for detail. Actually we were just playing with the dog to see if she would let us do that. I guess you figured that out. This dog will pretty much let the wife do anything with her.
