@n.one.one, thanks for the comments. Can others chime in? Is Tesla still sending out the email below?

Congratulations! Your Model Y is ready for delivery in March 2020.

The next step for you is to confirm when you’re able to take delivery so we can ensure the best experience possible.

Once you confirm your availability, we’ll send you an update in the coming days to notify you when you can log into your Tesla Account and complete any remaining steps such as financing or trade-in. Your Tesla adviser will be available to answer any additional questions you may have.

The email I have gotten (and I believe the one that Electric Steve referred to) does not ask for what dates you are able to take delivery. It only asks you to populate certain information (address, DL, where you want to take delivery, etc).

Yes, that's exactly the email I got. I wish I knew when to expect the car, but I'm guessing it has to be at least April. Keep in mind that I only placed my order in Feb.

Hi, @bchan911. Can you talk more about why you would like a VIN column? Do you want to track production or do you want to know whether people have received their VINs? How about a Yes/No question about receiving VINs?

In the early days of Model 3 production people, including myself were tracking VINs. It was possible to estimate production with only a few hundred units error but then Tesla didn't like all the obsession with VINs and they mixed things up. They would leave lots of gaps and skip some VIN ranges and start using higher VINs but then they would go back and use lower VINs too but only some of them.

Yeah, I was one of those who got a lower VIN (072xx red aero RWD) when others were getting VINs in the 09xxx range. After understanding that they weren't 100% sequential, it wasn't really a big deal to me. Maybe others made more of this discrepency.

What I really liked about VINs and how the Model 3 tracker provided a graph of VINs and the colors of the vehicles. With this info, you could see the VIN discrepancies and make some judgments on when to expect the delivery of your specific vehicle configuration.

Even though there are breaks in the VINs they could still be thought of as a very rough estimate of the production #s. As values got larger the production #s and VINs could diverge but you could see those jumps in the graph and rationalize what is going on. IIRC, when deliveries occurred for given VINs of a certain color it was common to see that run of VINs happening in the graph.

Not hard over saying we MUST have VINs but I still think they would be useful if the graph was also present.

PS: After getting the car, the Model 3 tracker spreadsheet become less interesting. I stopped looking but still pointed those waiting to the sheet since it was so useful for me. I was probably a bit more of a fanatic and by using the sheet was able to predict my delivery notice within a week or so before it happened.

In my email on Feb 25th it asked me for dates I wouldn't be available for delivery.
I filled in Tue, Wed, Thur for the 15th onwards.
Haven't heard anything back since then.
Only changes on my 'Manage Account' page was the removal of showing my insurance details in text fields - only has the insurance card image I uploaded.
No VIN

I spoke to my delivery specialist earlier this week. I have submitted all the information and intend on getting Tesla Insurance.

He said I should have a VIN assigned by this Friday (tomorrow) and that delivery should be around next week to March 23rd. He sounded pretty confident about this. Model Y Performance (Performance Package), FSD, white on white. Sounds like I may be part of wave #2?

or use 'Data > Filter views' on the top menu in the spreadsheet.

So I'm not sure what is wrong - maybe some security setting in my Chrome on work laptop? - but I don't see any Data item on Google Sheet so I can't do any filters - in fact I can't interact with a cell or do anything other than a dumb text select all then cut and paste into excel but that is a real bore...

I've noticed that also but it's intermittent. If you reload the page or close your browser and reload it then the full page that Troy is referring to will 'eventually' reappear. I'll hazard a guess that right now the page is so popular and getting so many visitors that certain features are disabled by Google Sheets. I'm guessing that because when visiting the page from my phone yesterday I got a notice that said the page was busy and features would be disabled. I hope others with more in depth knowledge will add their thoughts.

You have it right, @n.one.one. This is becoming a very popular spreadsheet and Google is just getting bogged down, occasionally.

Just received text message: Delivery scheduled for 3/28 (I updated the tracking spreadsheet accordingly).

Plot twist: message says the car will be delivered directly to my home. Has anyone else gotten a message similar to this???

Not complaining, just surprised. I guess I get to inspect the car upon delivery...

Unfortunately, I'm not in a delivery zone. My plan is to get a cab to take me there, which is not something I'm excited about given the pandemic.
