Unfortunately, I'm not in a delivery zone. My plan is to get a cab to take me there, which is not something I'm excited about given the pandemic.

COVID-19 exposure is top-of-mind for me as well. I actually prefer the home delivery model (this is my first Tesla purchase so I wasn't aware this was even an option). Already thinking about potential contamination from the folks who cleaned it up & delivered it, and how to deal with that properly.

I believe that some studies show that covid 19 can live up to 72 hrs on a stainless steel surface. It's transmitted via respiratory droplets. Wait 72 hrs before going in the car. Wow it down with a lysol wipe then.

I haven't received any emails since reserving, but kept checking my account page. Over the past couple hours, I set up my trade-in and loan, and submitted proof of insurance. Now I'm just waiting for a delivery date and VIN.
Same here. Also have been contacted by a delivery specialist. I'm wondering if Tesla is not sending out e-mails any longer - or maybe it's somewhat random who they send emails to, like their delivery algorithm.

I’m looking for a Model Y as my wife and I can’t import our Canadian car to the states. We went to the Tesla dealer in Seattle, they advised a year wait if I ordered today, is that right? I figured it would be about a 2-3 month wait.
It could be 2 weeks, 2 months or a year. It's hard to predict exactly since Tesla isn't delivering cars in the order in which they were ordered online. Many people placed orders in February and have already taken delivery or received delivery dates. Other placed orders over a year ago and are still waiting.

Same deal here- no email but went into my account in manage and there were the questions for delivery...

I wonder if with the Canadian border closed they are redirecting cars to people back in the states??? I read somewhere that Canada was getting some of the first cars because of I think some incentives for EV. Course the boarder is closed now, so what to do with the cars?

Anyway- my nightmare condition is I fill it all in, get the date and then LOCKDOWN- now I'm paying for a car I can't get.

BTW- I ordered the AWD non-performance with the 19" wheels, Black interior in Jan-2020; if anyone is keeping track of the stats.

I live in the bay area and ordered my Deep Blue Metallic Performance with Performance upgrade and FSD on Feb 29th of this year hoping to get it in the fall. I didn't get a lot of notifications but kept logging into my account and updated forms as they became available. I got the delivery questionnaire after a week and my contract and VIN after two. They scheduled my delivery at the Fremont delivery center for today (Mar 20), only 3 weeks after I ordered.

Unfortunately, with all of the Covid-19 stuff going on and tons of economic uncertainty, it didn't seem like a prudent decision to make a $70K+ purchase right now. I called the delivery center and they were very understanding. They unassigned the VIN and put a note in my account not to put me back in the queue until May.

To whoever gets Vin 000247, I hope you enjoy my car, it was tough to let it go.

Got a text to schedule with a VIN this afternoon!!

We ordered our Y the night of the unveil, 3/14/2019. Our order config never changed Blue/Performance/Black interior/Auto Pilot, and responded ASAP for all Tesla required info from the 2/24/2020 email to prepare for delivery.

For several weeks, we were getting the same Tesla reply “just waiting for VIN.” After asking about the effects of shelter-in-place on the morning of 3/17, we finally got our VIN later that same afternoon. We were scheduled to take our Y delivery at the Fremont Hub on Friday 3/20 — the soonest available day.

But just hours before our delivery appointment today, we got a call from Tesla that our Y did not pass final delivery inspection, and needed to go “back to factory” to fix paint imperfections.

Same batch as CaliChris614 with a low 00024X VIN. We even asked if another vehicle was available instead of our VIN, so we could still take delivery today. Nope. We are tentatively rescheduled for 3/22 Sunday after the paint repairs. Fingers crossed!

Part of me wonders... if Tesla is matching orders to inventory on hand, and an order almost a year after ours with the same config is less then 10 VINs away, why even match a VIN for delivery without FIRST inspecting the car? Why does the delivery center have to catch a paint issue that should have been part of QA at the assembly line?

If only our VINs were swapped CaliChris614, they could fix the paint on our Y for the next customer. Sigh...

Sorry if I missed a post but have you guys got your Red MYs yesterday and today?

Bluurg, I have to admit, I was a little concerned when I saw my VIN was so low, especially after the first round of VINs were in the 400-800 range. My first thought was that mine had already failed initial inspection and needed some extra time for repairs. The first few owner reports sound promising though, not nearly as many fit and finish issues as the previous models. Hopefully they get yours sorted out soon and you can get it out on the road and make me jealous. :)

When I spoke with a Delivery Specialist on the phone yesterday, he told me the VIN isn't assigned to an order until the final stages of the car's production. So if an order from last year is filled near the same time a new order is filled (which appears to be happening) you could get VINs that are fairly close to each other even though the orders were submitted many months apart.
