I have been communicating with the company discussing maybe changing my color frrom black to red. I was told "there is a new red on the production floor and it is loud." I finalized under the pretense that my 40kwh would be delivered in Dec and I didn't want to delay the delivery for red. Now that the reds will be in production before the 40's, I just need to see a pic to make the decision to change my order.

I was clearly told that the 3rd row optin would add about2 weeks to my delivery date. It was a factor, albeit a small one, in my decision to not get them. Unfortunately messages aren't always consistent.

"Loud" implies poor taste. I would rather say "brilliant." Bring on the photos of one on the factory floor!
I just contacted my delivery specialist. He told me that my car would be completed by mid April!! I'll be shipped to Seattle once they have enough cars batched up for the Pacific Northwest area. So the car will be built and sitting in their parking lot for up to three weeks, which gives me an anticipated delivery of late April to early May. Excited! Time to hook up my NEMA 14-50.

Good news for me! Pac-NW and high res. number. I had a dream last night about taking delivery of my MS. It was horrible. Wrapped and not fully assembled, wrong interior color, steering column on the wrong side!! And the color... picture those 70's dune buggies or speed boats, you know the glittery candy apple red vinyl? That.
Truthfully, my big worry is what all that bright red will look like on the large canvas that is the Model S. It's one explanation for the relatively subdued palette that was originally available. I've seen an Impala with a bright red and didn't really like it--not sure if it was the shade of red or the huge platform it was on. Too late now, of course, and I am determined to have no regrets.

I haven't gotten any specifics the few times that I've contacted Tesla, but mine will be shipped to Seattle as well. Ours might even be on the same shipment!
I've seen rumors of an announcement from Elon tomorrow... maybe? Just Maybe!?
Edit: Pictures of the factory floor have been very coveted. I doubt we'll get those. There might be one tomorrow with this fabled announcement? Would make for good press.

Spoke to someone who spoke to marketing who said the new multi coat red will be in the santanna row showroom on April 4th Thursday and said my car would be ready end April. I will wait till next Thursday to see a red in person. Still nervous about the color. Everyday I see at least two gray teslas on the road and that was my second choice. Not sure if I did the right thing by choosing red.

Yes - look at any auto show or magazine award and you will see the car they are talking about - it's not one that was recently made at the plant.
