Looks fantastic, I do still like the Red but it’s a great car in any colour!!
I agree, I used to do a lot of work in Suffolk, and it’s a lovely county.

I’m still #TeamBlue however 🤣🤣
😂😂Thank you.
Absolutely; go team blue.
However, a certain BJ, and I don't mean the number plate, is no longer leading Team Blue!
We may get Team Red next time🤓

Just got her back after two days with the detailer and full frontend PPF.

First red one he's seen and he has seen a few model Ys

No! This is. Just back in the Club Room!
Since collecting Lizzie from the detailers on Thursday morning, our progress has been peripatetic; who knew there were so many Waitrose car parks in the country. We are banned from quite a few .... " I'll give you Summon! "

Seriously though, it has been wonderful. Currently enjoying coffee at Henham Park, AirBnB. Too early for Latitude ( though I am allowing myself some by 2Kw charging from bedside to Lizzie via an open window).

Suffolk is a great county though a bit of a schlep from London.... but so is Cornwall and ..... etc.

So far, very happy with the detailing results; one small disappointment re the spoiler which did not want to firmly attach itself. I have the option to return and have them use their " secret weapon" glue.

All sorts of " spoiler" puns being currently run past SWMBO but he reactions are very Nero-like; thumbs down.... she only wishes she had more thumbs🥲

Now then..... SWMBO says..." speaking of thumbs.... I don't think you should tell them about catching your left one in the closing car door"
So I wont😱
Good to see you back. We were worried, thought you were slammed up in old chokey. Spent yesterday searching the news for Waitrose related crimes. Car is looking good 😎, hope you're pleased. Free juice is my favourite pastime, who would have thought 🤔😌😊💭

Re the wheel type/colour controversy that seems to have warmed a little in my absence - can't leave you alone for a minute, here is my take, for the very little it is worth:

Go for black wherever possible please and if you must have Gem's keep the covers on.
How else can I achieve a modicum of old school personalisation.

Now then..... SWMBO says " The last time you boasted of not kerbing a wheel in 25 years,
remember what happened the very next....
.... you boys and your hubris"

Thanks Majesty
Almost lost for words😉 to express how much I am enjoying her. Trying, and failing, at being to precious when we have to leave her in a public parking place. Had to have a gently word with a German gentle- man yesterday; parked his M5 close and them with wife and kids stated to unload the gunnel packed car and roof box.
Hey hoy, .... get a life springs to mind but I am quite enjoying this one ......Danke😀

The reason you received 2022.16.3 Update is you have set the update preference to "Advanced" which causes the vehicle to start getting every single content-containing patch (not necessarily the bugfix patches,) the first day they become generally available but that means the car receives and runs every update whether stable or buggy. I turned it off and to standard as it became annoying becoming Tesla's "Alpha Tester" at my own risk and also one's own valuable time as each minor update takes a minimum of 30min to download and further time to install. I remain on the latest stable update 2022.12.3.2 for the last two (2) months and awaiting the next stable update. Some erroneously are of the opinion this setting seems to make no difference at all, yet it does, it's like downloading the public beta of iOS and Android system software, you do it at your own risk and time. I used to think it doesn't hurt, I get to see new features sooner rather than later until upon install of the latest iOS beta software my iPhone became blocked and after hours of wasted time on the phone and more at the Apple store their tech advised there's nothing they can do other than replace the phone, they took my barely new phone and replaced with a factory refurbished. Needless to state, I removed the beta and never subscribed again. Instead, I spend the extra wasted time downloading and installing bug-ridden Tesla updates, on installing 3rd party options that make the vehicle a more complete and functional vehicle, like installation of an Automatic front-bonnet Frunk opener, installation of an Android Auto/Apple CarPlay extra monitor in order to run any apps not just provided by Tesla, a 24-hour Dashcam with its own 48-hour external battery so one can capture and save continuous recording versus Tesla's which only records and overwrites every 2-hours and is known to be quite buggy, adding weatherstrip noise reduction kits for frunk, trunk, all the doors and the moon roof which makes the opening and closing of all mechanical doors and hatches much more waterproof and firm

How much was the front end PPF? The nose of the Y looks quite exposed compared to the M3 😬
So I went the full works on mine at got it ceramic coated and protected inside and out , full front PPF, mirrors etc.

Cost all in was £1600, not cheap but the guy always does a great job and it's guaranteed for 10 years for the PPF and 5 years for the ceramic coat.

I probably won't have the car then but hopefully it helps resale value

I have a question I've been meaning to ask as I feel it's a question that never comes up, even though I suspect other people may be in the same boat as me.

I will not be able to connect to wi-fi as my car will be too far away from my house. So can anyone tell me if we still get updates over the air it we have the premium connectivity?

And would we still get these updates it we didn't have premium connectivity?

Critical updates would get pushed over 4G but you wouldn’t get regular updates or Nav map updates without connecting to Wi-Fi, be that home connected or hotspot to your phone.

Premium connectivity makes no difference.

With the exception of updates that are deemed critical/safety required by Tesla (which AFAIK do download over mobile data, premium subscriber or not), you need WiFi for the car to download software updates. The car will indicate when an update is available and the notification states it will download when connected to WiFi. It shouldn't be a major problem since you can setup a WiFi hotspot to your phone or park somewhere that WiFi is available.

The premium connectivity delivers as advertised all the features and well worth it yet as far as relating to updates, the only thing the vehicle sim will do irrespective of subscription for premium connectivity or not is a notification that the vehicle has been selected to receive an update. Then you must connect to an external wifi for download. This wifi may be a home wifi (which incidentally i am also too far away from), a portable wifi router or a hot spot of originating from your own mobile/cell phone device. I used to download using the hotspot from my phone but i acquired an independent 5G mobile portable wifi router which I simply connect and walk away until it downloads and installs without having to leave my own mobile which remains for my own exclusive use. Critical updates which i have yet to see are supposed to download via the vehicles sim irrespective of premium connectivity or not but have never experienced a single instance of a critical update
