Good to see everyone's deliveries yesterday, as for mine back in March, and no doubt many others before, have come without the woes spread around on here of swirl marks and panel gaps, missing cables and anything else...
Like others I was fretting like mad on collection and spent more time than necessary checking a perfect car rather than enjoying the experience.
Prepare yourself by all means but please go positive, the guys on site were amazing and helpful (as again proven yesterday) as it is in their best interests for us all to leave as happy customers so they can tick off another quarterly sales target 🎯.
Roll on more collections this week, enjoy guys they are amazing.
PS... still haven't dropped £1.5k on AB as I can live with the standard acceleration and have found a better use for the cash. Not to say I won't in the future though if I have it burning a hole in my pocket ;)
Great news. Thanks for the delivery report.

When do tesla typically register the car? Pick up Friday and still can't insure it as its not showing up.
I've just got insurance with DL. Given them the reg number. I asked if have to do anything else when I get the car next week and they said no.

In fact, I've just checked, they've sent me the policy/insurance documents. They're in my account. Insured from 29th June.

Did anyone who picked up today get asked for proof of insurance?
Not sure if anyone directly answered but, NO, proof of insurance isn't Tesla responsibility. The only thing I was asked to bring is Driving Licence. They can see from the account all is paid up. When the confirmation call came from Telsa, that was confirmed, just DL is mandatory (unless told otherwise, for me, just DL).

Well said and 100% agree. There can be a tendency on the forum to focus on the negative and it can spread like a contagion. For those who are getting their cars in the coming days (or in the future) you can chose to make it an anxious time or an exciting time. Important in my opinion to keep the perspective

Good luck to all!

Right. So the licence plate holders are already pre-installed... all the ground crew has to do is to put the UK licence plates on.... so I don't need to bring my sprit level... LOL

p.s. does anyone know/ can anyone please tell me if these 'holders' simply un-click and if so, how? After receiving my V5 I will be transferring my personalised reg from my old car.... called Tesla, and unlike 'normal' dealerships, they CANNOT register your car with your own reg... the 'new world' of car purchasing...

Not picking up this month (booo) but I'm quite excited to see everyone else do so. I feel like we need a 'Car pickup day porn' thread as I always think the more pics the better! It may already exist but I couldn't really see a gallery type area or thread within the UK section (I'm not so fussed about seeing American pickups tbh)?

You can change the plates over in about 10 seconds. Tesla will not put your personal reg direct to the car. When I collected my 3 in December, the V5 came within 2 days. I collect mine on Friday and I would be surprised if my V5 does not arrive next Monday.

I went through confused.com. Since the reg number doesn't find a match, you just manually select the car but still specify the plate that you were told by Tesla.

I insured mine two weeks ago (with a start date of 25th) and got an amazing price through confused and Churchill - about £350! (performance model too)

I am picking up on Saturday. As it stands I have a VIN but no licence plate. When do you get the licence plate? Will I be able to insure it without a licence plate?
You need to contact Tesla asap to find the VRN that they are going to register against your VIN. Without that VRN you can't insure the vehicle.

I'm also collecting on Saturday, but I got my VRN in early June and adding it to my existing LV policy was a doddle over the phone; I got the certificate of insurance through email from LV within a minute of ending the phone call!
