Ok then I have just spoken to Tesla about our pending Performance delivery (ordered October 2020) and they have 100% confirmed that they will be delivered by the end of Q2 which is June. They are not being delivered in May as we all guessed it is just SR & LR only. So bloody frustrating but at least now after 6 long months they can 100% guarantee they will be here by the end of June. Not the news we wanted to hear but at least we now know.

Great information- like you say, as long as you know, you can make a plan !

Out of interest what is your leasing company telling you? It seems like Tesla are stringing them along too, though as bulk buyers you would have thought they would get better communication from Tesla. Mine are still under the impression of May deliveries.

I’m a little surprised there is such difference. From a production point of view, and because they don’t do build to order, you’d think would want to streamline models as much as possible to give them flexibility. Eg LR+P could be the same car, then they software limit the LR flashed at the service centre and stick on the spoiler/rear badge for P models

is there anything fundamentally different under the skin - can’t imagine they’d go to the trouble of different motors between the two

Be nice if they updated the orders to June. Even new M3P's are showing as May and the LR are showing June!!! So random.

Lowered suspension, bigger battery, spoiler and wheels... that's about it. But the first two are probably a bit much for the service centre to do.

P has:

Larger rear motor, slightly less range.
Larger battery
Larger brake calipers on the front
Supposedly lowered suspension but recently saw a comparison which shows this to not be the case anymore
Stick on spoiler
Larger wheels.

and a problem with slow acceleration at low state of charge and cold battery temps

And finally your wallet feels lighter. 🤣

Further confirmation for everyone. My delivery specialist has been ignoring me, but I thought I'd try contacting the sales advisor who's always been super helpful. He was again. He's confirmed that no model 3's will be delivered in May, they will arrive in Mid June with collections the final week of June. He also added that he's not 100% sure, but he thinks they will be coming from Fremont still for the performance model but he'll let me know closer to the date. So not new information, but at least it seems to be confirming what we're hearing.

This is good to know and it seems to confirm our initial suspicions. It makes me laugh how much it contradicts what I was told over the phone just a few days ago though! Maybe this is something I need to get used to with Tesla's quality of communication.

At least we can stop eagerly awaiting the Tesla texts for a while... 😂

Thanks for the update. It certainly doesn’t make any sense that they would manufacture “a few” RHD M3P from Fremont, when all other RHD models have switched to Shanghai. I will contact Tesla tomorrow to see what I can find out.

...still amazed that given the overwhelming evidence suggesting that deliveries of Performance models will be June... that the website still indicates May delivery for new orders !! From what I can tell, since tracking deliveries, Tesla usually update the website information well in advance, but here we are only a week or so from May and it still remains inaccurate.
