Unicorns

I was told by my Tesla lease facilitator (up in Feb 2019) that my 2015 S85 executive configuration is a unicorn. I actually do like that there is no headrest in the middle to obscure my rear view further, and the seats are quite bucketed and comfortable!

My test drive years back was in a car with executive rears. I was with 2 other people so spent some time sitting in the back seat. They are super comfortable. Sadly they don't fold down so they didn't work for me.

Ooh do share pics

And the limited production window matching Next Gen Recaro rear seats:

Note the extra bolstering and matching headrest and mid-back designs.

(Please ignore the indentations in the headrests... I just removed the kids seats)

While not unicorns,
MX with bright white paint is super bright!
And original MX 7 seater with entire second row on pedestals makes loading my 3 kids a breeze.
I'm lucky to have both MX characteristics which were stopped shortly after mid 2016.

Are these actually rare? I just assumed they were next gen seats?

Well I'll add this for consideration to the list of the rare I guess... I have a P85D (Dec 2014 build) with P+ suspension dampers, recaro seats in the rear it seems, "blue paint" which is the very deep metallic blue (no longer offered but a phenomenal color), solid body color roof (no longer available as well), 21" silver turbines (no longer available as well), other options no longer available as well on current configs; yacht floor and twin chargers etc... Also has a black bottom, white top alcantera. This is a beautiful car of no longer offered options, or maybe a reflection of progress. I guess I'll keep it versus trading-in since the value was in the 50's when they gave me a trade in price with under 35k miles.

In addition to the AP1 P85/P85+...

There were a couple of OEM options that weren’t very popular. Specifically the black metal roof on a non-black body is rare, as are the original aero wheels.

Green 85D and P85D are also pretty unusual combinations due to a very short time when that combination was available.

Bruce.

Can you point me to a picture of one with "black metal roof on a non-black body". Would like to see one with a white body if possible. My google fu must be lame today, I couldn't readily locate one.

I just picked up a cpo a couple weeks ago that's almost exactly like yours! Only difference is it's pearl white instead of blue, has the pano roof, and black 21" wheels. Had 43k miles and bought it for $65.5k to give you an idea of the profit Tesla turns on these.

Hmmmmm...not sure I’d be able to do much better. I just remember it being a build option a long time ago, and in the years since then I have seen exactly one car that had it (in real life).

Bruce.

EDIT: Maybe this:

tesla model S now in production
