Upgrade from a 60 to a 75.

I took delivery of my S60 today, this evening only 10 hours after driving out of the showroom I upgraded my 60 to a 75! I asked the delivery experience specialist to ensure that the 75 decal was already fitted when I took delivery of my car.

Within minutes of paying the upgrade fee, the car received the upgrade and now the extra capacity is charging!

So far, I am really impresssed with Tesla!

May I ask the reason for the upgrade?

I ordered the 60 and don't plan on upgrading at all.

Of course, I choose the 60 from an already built stock list to speed up delivery, I travel approximately 40-50K per year on business and my average client locations are between 100/200 miles from my location, I just felt a 75 battery would offer a little more range between charging.

I can't remember exactly but I believe it was at the top end. I was charging the car to 100% (being a 60 and planning a long trip today 250 miles) after the upgrade the charge time left jumped from 1hr 25 to say 4hrs 25.

Sorry if I am a bit vague but I didn't take much notice of the actual figures.

One interesting thing was whilst the upgrade was taking place, the iPhone app just read waking car up..... then after a minute the upgrade was complete.

Were you charging on 110V? Some of this info is gold to us nerds. We're trying to determine where the buffer lies and have been waiting for someone to do the upgrade with a full or near full battery to determine the charge percentage difference. Thanks for sharing.

Here in the UK the standard is nominally 240v. But we need to know whether this was on the UMC or a dedicated wall charger, and if wall charger what amperage it had.

I've had a 60 for two months and plan to upgrade to 75. I was interested in seeing what $66000 bought you. As far what I found- it is a lot. This is a small island and 60 is plenty unless we are taking visitors on a "burning wheels" tour of the island. Then I have to backtrack and top off the battery twice which I can avoid with a 75. It's just simpler. There is basically no charging between Kona and Hilo so not a good idea to push it on range.

Awesome! Please let us know what the charge percentage is after the battery unlock. Cheers!

Can you ask to have no decals at all? Seems like if they took off the "60" they could leave it blank too ..not impressed with the font and would prefer the cleaner look. I know there are ways to get it off yourself but I'd rather have them do it if possible

I asked my DS if they would leave the "MODEL S" and "60" off of the back for me. He said yeah no problem, they do that all of the time. Sure enough when I got my car they were on there. I think I would have been more surprised if they weren't on there. That's just how things seem to go. He said the service center would take them off during my first visit. He also said they would detail my car for me since they didn't have time to do it before I picked it up. Not sure if I trust them to polish my car or not. Although the car is so amazing to drive, I find myself not caring what the outside looks like when I'm behind the wheel. It only has a 155 miles on it, so that feeling will probably wear off pretty soon. We'll see.:)
