oh really? how does immersive sound sound in the SR then? do you just get a bit of smeary reverb added to the sound?
the software effect is also there in the premium but overshadowed by the extra 2 speakers. it does have cause a bit of smearing with reverb which is well appreciated by panning the sound to the rear (where the immersion speakers dont work).
Ya, so I just turned off/on immersive sound on lots of my songs (hip hop with bass, synthwave) and they all sound worse without it. The sound is very weak and empty without immersive enabled. Only sound is coming from the middle dash. With immersive it at least distributes sound around the dash more. Never turned it off before. I am definitely keeping it on And very much looking forward to when I get a dual motor with the full premium because this system is lacking big time after hearing that! Immersive helps for sure.
Just in case anyone wondering, just talked to my local Delivery center (Tampa) SR to SR+ still $5k, you get a discount if you got EAP.
Thanks for the update. I heard they you can no longer get the SR with the 2021. I'm not sure if that is going to make it less likely for the upgrade price to drop or not.
The plans is to come out with a “Model 2” by 2024 - 2025 that will be affordable to the masses, $20k - $25k, this will happen with the new battery. Fred
Has anyone inquired about upgrading from the SR to the SR+ without Auto Pilot? I'm guessing it would be about 2k, if they let you do it. Thanks.
Yeah SR+ upgrade is not a good value any more. I was hoping for a lower price like when I bought the $2K, dropped AP pricing. We're probably a small target population. Also my car display already says SR+ (and I have immersive sound, fog lights. So the only thing missing is ~20 miles trip range (which I write off to a buffer by charging to 100%)
Sadly it is right. Go on your tesla app, schedule a service appointment and note that you want to upgrade from SR to SR+. They will send you a quote.
Can you post here? (it would help like with some things Tesla it helps to have proof since they don't know as much as forums )
That's what I've heard too. The question is, can you buy the update (range, speed, sound) without Autopilot for 2k?
Actually, they won't let me update my SR to SR+ without Autopilot. They'll do it the other way around (autopilot first), but not just range/power/audio without Autopilot.
