Good afternoon.

I wanted to start notating my Used experience to share amongst the hundreds of others who have already done the same.

5/2 1200
After searching on EV-CPO and finding exactly what I was looking for I placed the order and put down my 2500 dollars.
I had already read the many CPO/Used experiences so I had an idea of what to expect. Click the request picture button and almost immediately had an email with quiet a few pictures. Wow I was impressed with the cleanliness and quality. The car was chrome deleted and had some torn vinyl on the read Tesla appliqué but other than that perfect.
After the initial order was placed the checklist appeared on the Tesla page and I promptly completed everything. At this point I sat back and waited for someone to give me some direction (I selected self financed for the payment method.)

The car I ordered is around 1300 miles from my nearest SC which is about 2.5 hours from where I live. I gladly will pay the shipping fee though as I don't feel like driving 18 hours just yet.

5/2 1700
I went ahead and entered my trade in information and quickly got an offer back. Not bad on the speed but not so great on the offer. Since I hadn't heard from anyone I went ahead and called the 800 number and was able to speak to someone extremely helpful. They advised that if I though the offer was too low I was welcome to take my vehicle to a Carmax and that Tesla would match the offer. Good deal!

5/4
Still haven't heard from anyone but took the trade in to a Carmax and low and behold the price was about 4 grand higher. Scanned the form into my Tesla portal and called the 800 number. The next person who answered said no problem, ill send this to the proper team to get the price adjusted and you should be hearing from someone.

5/6
Called the 800 number and requested a MVPA so I could get financing taken care of. Was finally told the name of my delivery specialist. Was told he would contact me by the end of the day.

5/7
No response still from my specialist and no MVPA. couldn't do financing and still waiting for any sort of contact.

5/8
Woke up and checked my account. I finally had numbers under financing and they matched up with what I had hand calculated. Awesome! Looked through the online documents and alas...No MVPA...I called the 800 number and a guy said "I see it and will forward it to you". Me being naive said "Thanks!" and hung up. entire day goes by and no MVPA. I finally called back and someone else checked. Said it had just (within minutes) been finalized and would email it to me. I chose to stay on the line and bingo!
Finally received my MVPA (Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement)

5/9
Forwarded the MVPA to my banker and she finalized everything with the load with one exception. Because Tesla does not draft directly from banks I am required to send a physical check overnight. Because of this my bank is requiring a Letter of Guarantee. She said she would call Tesla and ask for one but knowing how hard it is I went ahead and called to try and get one. Calling my trusty 800 number the person immediately suggested I contact my delivery specialist. They proceeded though to get them on whatever messenger Tesla uses and explained what I needed. He said he would take care of it and I would have it in time to get the check and overnight it to Tesla. At this time I was told by the rep that my car hadn't actually moved at all (conflicting stories from the beginning) and wouldn't move until I uploaded a picture of the check and the tracking number to my account and the vehicle was marked at fully paid. Drat...I verified this with other peoples post that I had somehow missed and am now still waiting for the letter.

I will update this post as this progresses forward. I am not posting this to whine or complain but just want to give a detailed/accurate accounting of my own personal experience. I knew what I was getting myself into but I think the payoff (driving that Model S home) will be worth it.

I'm on the same boat. Ordered on 5/3, car is in MA going to WA. Heard from delivery specialist today. Their email said that the car was "getting transferred" to the delivery center but I haven't gotten an MVPA yet.

It sounds like it doesn't move until financing is finalized? That sucks.

I have actually heard a couple of different things. The delivery specialist said that wasn't true but that it would like take 2-3 weeks for it to travel CA to TX. The sales guys say the latter, that it doesn't move. (someone "pinged" the actual car, or so they say and it was in Phoenix, AZ) the next person said it had not moved. I have no idea. Ill just wait for it as patiently as I can lol...

lol. so tough being patient with this!

you mentioned that you went to your account and had numbers under financing. I'm guessing this is a new section added when the MVPA is ready? I dont have a "financing" section in my account page

It replaces the "payment" section. It appeared the same day the MVPA was ready but not totally approved. Once business office has it totally approved a customer service rep can send it to you (if you don't feel like waiting for delivery spec.)

Called 800 number to check on letter of guarantee. A second deliver specialist submitted it as high priority.

I received the guarantee letter about an hour later and got the check from the bank. I uploaded the picture of the check and the overnight tracking number and attempted to call both of the delivery specialists I know but no deal. Emailed both of them to get the car into a paid status.

Now the waiting actually starts. :)

I logged into Tesla.com to just look and it appears I am now an official owner of a model s. I have my own referral code now! I’m guessing this is tied to putting the car in a paid off status? All that’s left is waiting for the car to arrive in Austin (for that matter to leave San Diego/Phoenix, wherever it is)

Interesting.. my referral link was set up on my account yesterday and don't even have a MVPA lol

I guess there's not a real flow to the process. It's whatever and whenever.

Either way, it all seems to be getting us closer to physically having the car. :)

rofl. So just got off the phone. Every time a different answer. This time the guy says that cars don’t ship till the check is posted. It is incredible how many different answers you can get from Tesla. The consensus on the sales side is cars don’t ship till they are paid for. (This is for a non licensed state like Texas) the delivery side says that they start the process as soon as you pay your 2500 bucks. The truth? We may never know.

Oh man. Maybe the San Diego location is busy. Most of the used cars I saw listed were either Diego or San Francisco. Hopefully Massachusetts is moving.

Have you heard anything on yours? I hope its in transit :)

My wife is starting to get frustrated especially since the car has been paid for and the first car payment is going to come due in a month lol

Wife called 800 number (because DA is pretty much non existent). Escalated things to get a delivery supervisor. She is expecting a call back sometime today. Ill update if she gets called. Im just looking forward to driving this thing...I can't wait!
