I don't know if mind is single phase or three phase. How do I find? Is 32amps good with single phase? If you are going to wire a separate circuit might as well go far 32A
My board is outside the garage wallsIf you are charging close to your board you could have the electrician install a dedicated 15a din mounted gpo in the board, assuming you have sufficient spare slots. Saves all the cable routing and cable costs. Means your board door has to be open when charging so not a good option if thats exterior.
If all your breakers and main switch are the same width (approx 2cm) then you are single phase. If one or more are tripple width then 3 phaseI don't know if mind is single phase or three phase. How do I find? Is 32amps good with single phase?
Yep so dont do what I just suggestedMy board is outside the garage walls
That's where I am confused. It looks like single, but at the same time I read somewhere that if there are three fuses in the main board it is 3 phase (How To Check if You Have 3 Phase Power (& Solar)). My board has 3 fuses but the breakers are slim and all same size. I do have an extended board which I haven't looked at yet.If all your breakers and main switch are the same width (approx 2cm) then you are single phase. If one or more are tripple width then 3 phase
The main switch shown is single phase, however the other board may tell a different story as the main switch shown is likely just be for that sub-board. Fairly sure thats a single phase meter though. That's where I am confused. Attached are the images of the main board.
You would need an entirely different bit of charging kit. The UMC maxes out at 16A 3 phase I think. A Tesla HPWC will be cheaper than the portable alternatives.I just did a bit of a research and can see that MY can charge 0-100 in under 8 hours on single phase if using 32amps plug.
However, I read somewhere that Tesla UMC comes with only up to 15 amps adaptor. Is there a good suggestion for 32 amps adaptor that works with Tesla Gen2 UMC?
I really don't want to invest in a HWPC in a rented house. Plus I am happy with slow charging as long as it can charge over nightYou would need an entirely different bit of charging kit. The UMC maxes out at 16A 3 phase I think. A Tesla HPWC will be cheaper than the portable alternatives.
RCBO rather than fuse these days. Also maybe some conduit. That would mean cabling, plus a separate fuse, plus the plug outlet, correct? Or would there be other expenses I would need to consider?
No, the UMC (the current version, supplied since before the Model 3 launched here) is a single phase device and supports up to 32A.You would need an entirely different bit of charging kit. The UMC maxes out at 16A 3 phase I think.
In the mean time, I just noticed that Tesla UMC is no longer listed in Tesla Shop Australia (not even as "out of stock"!!!). Are they pulling it form the market? No, the UMC (the current version, supplied since before the Model 3 launched here) is a single phase device and supports up to 32A.
You would need a 32A 'tail' for it, like this (or the 5-pin version).
I doubt it, it's probably just to stop people ordering them unnecessarily while they're still including it with new deliveries. In the mean time, I just noticed that Tesla UMC is no longer listed in Tesla Shop Australia (not even as "out of stock"!!!). Are they pulling it form the market?
Well that's stupid, what of someone who already has a Tesla and no UMC needs one now?!I doubt it, it's probably just to stop people ordering them unnecessarily while they're still including it with new deliveries.
