Who's Expecting Delivery Soon???

I confirmed April 3 for delivery May 21 (S85). Submitted all my paperwork timely to the DS. Did not hear a word, so I emailed him this past Wednesday (one week before scheduled pick up time at the factory). He telephoned a few hours later and said, that they probably could finish the car by the 21st, but Friday the 23rd would be safer.. So, our car got pushed back two days.

The dashboard changed to "in production" late Thursday afternoon.

Central Valley California?

Good Luck on your delivery date.

By my own experience, and a few others on this forum and Tesla's forum, it appears that anticipated deliveries for the next couple of weeks are getting delayed. Anyone have any insight?

I ordered 4/3/14, confirmed 4/4/14, received a VIN on 4/18/14, with a scheduled delivery of May 22, 2014. Upon my prodding, my DS informed me this morning that my deliver (to Costa Mesa, CA) could be delayed by a couple of days. He said he would have a better handle next week "when my car went into production."

Given that it seems to take about 2 days to build an MS, and a day to transport to Southern California, it doesn't look like my original delivery date will happen.

Anyway, just wanted to pick the communal brain of all recent orderees to see if they were experiencing similar delays.

Ordered my S85 March 14,2014 vin #efp37460 first delivery dated May than within a few days late April than May 12,2014. Well May 12th has come and gone but no car.

The new date was first May 19, than change to May 22,2014 just in case they did not get the car to Costa Mesa over the weekend. By the way i have already had to make the first payment to B of A for a car I do not have. My bad for having faith that car company run by a man who ships cargo to the spacestation could deliver a car 406 mile in two months.

So like i said good luck with that date

Why are you making a loan payment when you don't have a car? Someone reported doing this last quarter at the end of the quarter when JP Morgan initiated their loan early - maybe to get the "sale" done within Q1 within the bank and at Tesla.

I am getting mine early:

Order: March 28
Confirm: March 28
Scheduled Delivery: May 26th
Production Complete, preparing for pickup or delivery status: May 7th
Revised Deliver: May 21

Oh no, got a call today, no delivery tomorrow, headquarters wants vehicles to be checked for a specific quality assurance validation step, no details on what, but it means a delay of a couple of days at this point. Good news is that they will be giving me a loaner until my car is ready.

Wow, giving you a loaner car is really nice.

You guys are making me worried that my 5/29 delivery date might be in jeopardy.

It looks like there are some delivery issues according to people on Tesla forum. I have reached out to DS to see if my car is impacted. Here is quote from a forum entry:

RedMS85 | MAY 19, 2014
The wait was finally over and I was scheduled to pick-up my car tomorrow (May 20th). Out of curiosity, I decided to contact my delivery specialist to confirm I was still pick up my car at scheduled date/time. I couldn't get a hold of him and someone from Corporate HQ asked him to give me a call. I finally received a call saying I won't be able to pick up my car tomorrow (even though it's delivered at the service center) due to quality issue! Apparently there are group of VIN numbers that had quality issues and mine is one of them!

- Why do cars leave factory if they had quality issues?
- At what point would delivery specialists have reached out to me proactively to let me know of this news had I not reached out to them myself?
