Congratulation Bonnie! I wish I could say: now come and suffer with the rest of us while we wait, but you at least have a Roadster to drive every day. (Not jealous or anything ;-) ).

That said, you have R260 which means that about 1 in 4 Roadster drivers also ordered a Model S. I guess that says something about customer satisfaction.

That's 4,945 reservations so far. With a minimum deposit of $5,000, that is over $24,725,000 in deposit money!
And about 413 Signature reservations (though I suspect there are still blanks/refunded reservations in the list); if you value each of those at an additional $35,000, that's $14,455,000 more in depost money, for a total of $39,180,000. A nice chunk of change.

Is it me or is Tesla possibly seeing about 10 reservations per day? Looks like it might be if the rate of change of MichiganModelS's numbers are decently close. If so, that's outstanding!

I think these numbers will probably be close to what final order numbers will be. I'm sure a decent percentage of people will ask for their deposits back for various reasons but putting down $5,000 over a year in advance is a much bigger commitment than the $99 Nissan Leaf reservation.

@Todd Burch -
I calculated it is just above 7 reservations per day. Also, on the May 4th Earnings call, Elon Musk stated there were more than 4,600 reservations through the end of April. My total was something close to 4,800. So, there is a margin of error (at least, if not more) of +/- 4%.

@dsm363 -
I agree with you. Also, consider this: according the earnings call Elon Musk and Deepak Ahuja stated the reservations are 100% "consumer interest-driven, and Tesla has not actively pursued reservation holders." Compare that to the television ads Nissan and GM run for the Leaf and Volt, it is an impressive feat that speaks to a strong interest in EV ownership.

I don't think that the number of reservations/per day will hold at this level. I've heard more than one person say they weren't going to bother, because the current number of deposits means they'd have to wait a long time. As that number climbs, I expect the rate of reservations will slow, with a few exceptions (like new announcements, first car shipped, etc.).

We had a Roadster depositor who was quite TMC active here way back when (30k? 50K?). He pulled out before they started delivering. (all chronicled in these pages) There will be many mind changes all the way up to Model S delivery.
