    Tesla St Leonards to close

Alexandria is set up as a delivery and service centre at the moment. There's a bit of parking outside. In terms of location the only advantage is that it's close to the airport. In terms of Sydney cars it basically only caters to about 1/3 (if that) of the city and does nothing for people who...

    Car events don't like EVs?

Ahh...Shannon's -- Where the term "car enthusiast" is defined strictly as someone who already has another policy with them!

I got the same cover as well. Did they specifically add the roof glass to your cover or is that included in the windscreen cover?

So...how did they remove it to do the PPF?
  6. S

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

It's really easy to do. A hair dryer (with care) and then go through the glue with a bit of dental floss. Then clean residue and you're done. If you decide to put the badge back you just put on new bits of double sided tape.

I think you're wasting your time. 3 Facebook group users Inc myself have done that in the past 6 weeks with no reply whatsoever. Shame as they look great.

    Autopilot feature lag gripe.

Have a look at this guy's videos - he has a Model X and more recently a Model 3, both with FSD. There's a lot of driving around the UK testing those features. Spoiler --> Yes...the UK has more stuff enabled than we do including Navigate on Autopilot which works on most motorways there. Tesla Driver

    Autopilot feature lag gripe.

Agree with you. Nanny state. Can't do anything about it. We're behind in so many other things as well (including car emissions standards which I could rant on about...)

    Spotify on version 9

Fingers crossed that's not for just the US (where Spotify hasn't been available in Teslas at all up till now). Remember other countries have had a browser for a while here it was only (re)enabled a month ago.
  13. S

    Spotify on version 9

You can't. Wifi disables if car not in P. I'm sure they could change that in software but at the moment the hotspot solution will only work in Park.

    Telsa puts Australia last...

I assume you have an SR+. - If so, the SR+ does not come with premium connectivity. This should have been obvious when you ordered the car. - It has been said that Tesla will offer premium connectivity as a paid option at some point but no firm time frame. - V10 will bring Spotify but I think...

Model 3 Partial Premium to Premium Interior

There probably will be...just can't be sure of when. My response to you was based on the fact that I've been reading about the same thing happening to cars in the states and in the UK. A close relative in London also had the same thing happen and the timing seems to be similar as well.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

If you're referring to the early type of DSGs that had the failed mechatronic unit in the Golf mk 5 and some mk 6s, no it's not the same gearbox anymore. In my experience it was ground breaking and really fast when it first came out but since then "normal" torque converter autos have caught up...

I test drove the P+ with 20 inch wheels in the middle of Sydney CBD where the roads are s***. I found the ride firm but more supple and less crashy that my BMW 5 series (which rides on 19s)

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

M3 SR+ is ~300kg heavier than the Golf GTi (DSG). It has about 70 more horsepower so if you apply ICE car rules that shouldn't be much faster. However Tesla has no gears to change, max torque is available from 0 revs of the motor and it's rear wheel drive (more traction off the line).

In Sydney too. EA have a "no frills" package which brings that down to 23c / kWh flat rate all day.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

    1. Yes. A white/white was seen with NSW plates (not a demo car) 2. If you go back in the last 4 or 5 pages a number of people have received calls, who had deliveries booked for September delaying their deliveries. Excuses range from "truck trouble" to "unforseen circumstances" to "it's in the...

Post delivery FSD purchase for Model 3 not available online

Replying mostly to your question in the main Model 3 thread: Buying it before as I'd rather it's included in the finance of the car. Business use means that by the end of the lease it will cost me about the same as the post delivery price and I get to not spend cash I may not have right now. On...

    Model 3 Recommendation Poll

I get your point regarding small issues vs bigger picture. I think most, if not all of us investing at this point do understand that. The other side of that coin though is this: If almost every car has little things here and there and then a number of cars throw up brake fluid warnings and...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

W T F Really sorry to hear that mate. It sounds like they've bumped you to a car that's either on the Melina or the next ship given the delay. Perhaps the car allocated had a problem and they couldn't deliver it. "unforseen" is not a word Tesla should be using to describe these situations...

Request to enable DAB+ - Interested?

I don't think I have enough twitter traction for Elon to respond to me. Perhaps if we get this thread to the attention of one of our Aussie press like techau we may have a chance although I think the best way now is, when this delivery mayhem clears a bit we just get a a list of names and email...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Understand there's a lot of rumour and hearsay on a Tesla forum. I didn't know how else to convey to you what I meant when I said "I am 100% sure". Perhaps telling you that a close family member who lives in London has a Model 3 which I've sat in and played with recently may have made a...

You are very hard to convince aren't you? Do this for me: Go to 5:06 on the video you posted Look at the channel list See how some stations have "+" next to their name? Those are DAB+. The guy is in Switzerland. You can check each station for yourself and see that he is in fact listening to...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I stand corrected. You are right. Although I don't have FM on in the tunnels either cause the processing they do creates a high pitched noise in the signal that (literally) does my head in.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

In the UK it's DAB+ I've been using in my current car for the past 4 years and I find it much easier than FM. The station list is available in my Head up display and I can scroll through stations using steering wheel controls. It works everywhere in Sydney, all the way up the central coast.

Request to enable DAB+ - Interested?

Thanks mate Hopefully we can get this going and get it enabled.
  38. S

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Aussie cars don't have it. I've checked. UK cars definitely do. I've been in one. I've started another thread about this so hopefully we can get a few people interested and then reach out to Tesla and ask them to enable it.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Thanks for that @spidey . Good explanation. I don't really understand why some people are arguing about this so much. If the hardware is there why wouldn't you want it enabled as another feature on your cars even if you never use it. Same with the browser. Not everyone will use it but I think...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

UK has had DAB+ in testing since 2013 and formally since 2016. Tesla Model 3s delivered in the UK have DAB+ - I am 100% sure. A lot of the EU has had DAB+ even before then. European cars have been coming HERE with DAB+ as standard since 2014. I was talking about DAB+ not DAB. I know that...

Request to enable DAB+ - Interested?

Hi peeps A bunch of people in the main Model 3 thread have expressed their disappointment that Aussie cars do not have DAB+ enabled. One member has had previous communication with Tesla (in writing) confirming that this feature should have been on our cars. Given UK cars have this feature...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Can confirm that UK and EU cars have it enabled. Given UK cars are identical to here, I suspect strongly that the hardware is there and it's just turned off. Perhaps we could collectively (whoever is interested) ask nicely for this to be enabled? I will create a new thread to see how many...

Maybe that's your experience but it's certainly not mine. No barrage. Just a healthy discussion. Your local hospital employs more people during peak periods in their ED to cope with things like New Year's eve spike in presentations etc. They use casual workforce who don't need training and are not "sacked" after the event. And yes...I know the...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Exactly... It's like someone said a couple of pages ago...if you get pissed off and cancel then your car will be allocated to someone else the next day so they don't care. What surprises me though is that even with existing customers they haven't really tried much. There's reports of existing...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I see your point, however disagree with you: - There's reports of Model S and X buyers having exactly the same issues with communication so it's not just limited to the time of the tsunami. - I already think this is the best car in it's class on the market right now hence I'm paying 117k to have...

Completely agree with your post. 100%. Some evangelists (here and on FB groups) chastise people for complaining but don't actually understand your point which is that people aren't upset that the cars are late. People are upset about the complete lack of any communication whatsoever about when...
