Model 3 “turned off” while charging

This happens to me at Superchargers too. Never thought to see if it could be fixed, figured it was a typical Tesla glitch. There have been a few times where I have had to keep the door open the whole time I was charging.

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

Like I mentioned, I haven't had to make an insurance claim in a long time - more than 10 years. And just recently switched insurance companies, and the new company was not helpful at all about filing a claim. Which is why I posted and asked for advice. Thanks for the advice.

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

I had added more about why people suggested I go to the media but I deleted it. Don't want to keep talking about it in the public forum. The potential media frenzy over details I haven't shared here would be interesting in the current US political landscape, and would be prime clickbait fodder...

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

There is a sensational/political aspect to this which I think is why I got the couple of suggestions to go to the media. Anyway, it's mostly moot, again I was just curious what others thought.

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

People who I gave full details of the incident about suggested going to the media. There is more info I'm not giving here that makes it... worse. These details are unrelated to my insurance questions, though. But that's why I included the aside. Just wanted to hear other people's takes.

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

He got the Amazon van stuck, wedged between my car and another. He thought I could back up my car so he could get unstuck. However, my car was in an enclosure and though he couldn't see it, there was no space to reverse. He didn't believe me. Eventually he confirmed what I said to be true and he...

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

So this is part of why I ask for advice, I haven't had to do an insurance claim in a long long time, and recently switched insurance companies. My new insurance company told me to do it all through Amazon. Any tips on taking this to my insurance? Also, my car wasn't just out in the parking...

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

No police report but plenty of photos of the officer and the driver. The officer refused to take a police report because it was private property, also refused to ask the Amazon driver to apologize or calm down etc.

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

Yes, the independent shop was Tesla approved body shop. I told Amazon in advance about this, and insisted on an in-person adjustor for this reason (which they eventually sent, after escalating my case twice). It seems like they are just trying as hard as possible not to fix the car correctly?

Amazon delivery van backed into my parked car, advice appreciated

Posting this for advice. I have plenty of photos and video footage of what happened. Amazon delivery van (tall/long sprinter type) backed into my parked car at work, damaging the passenger side of the front bumper, two sensors, and the front passenger side fog light. I took the car to get...

Mustang Mach-E Gets Great Reviews = Model 3 Challenger

Sounds eerily similar to my situation, though I didn't get a two year warranty extension. Did you ask for that or did they offer it to you? I have paint and panel gap issues but didn't notify Tesla in time so they never got fixed. When you say "free $2500 set of rims" do you mean they gave you...

    TSLAQ departures and other antics

I guess this post is supposed to be funny but it does seem particularly perverse to use phrases like "confirmed deaths" and "withered away" when referring to Twitter sock puppet accounts and/or trolls when we're literally still in a pandemic. Also kind of perverse that actual people died re...

    Auto Wipers are awful

Autowipers cannot handle dark + fog + rain mist. That’s the bottom line. Tesla and its fanboys want to insist it’s no big deal or that every manf has this problem, and yet Tesla is supposed to be able to solve car problems with software that no other OEM can. Recently found that the best the...

Service Center : is this normal?

Yes. I had almost the same experience... over 2 years ago. Took me 3 weeks of calling to get my car back for what was supposed to be a quick fix (swapping out the 4 curbed rims that were delivered with the car for 4 new rims). Interestingly, when the heating elements started spontaneously...

    Navigation without cellular reception?

This is accurate and great advice. Additional tips, especially if you have anxiety about losing LTE reception: -Install a map app on your phone that allows you to download maps offline if you are worried. I use Gaia GPS, worth every penny to me. -Physically write down or save in your phone the...

GME and AMC stock action (out of main)

I do zero investing by choice. That is my idea of what rejection of the norm is. I am ethically opposed to participating in the stock market due to its unseen/unconnected negative effects on people across the globe. Full disclosure: I have a very small IRA due to work matching. I still have it...

GME and AMC stock action (out of main)

My lived experience causes me to disagree with you. I am objectively successful, educated, and debt free, despite the Boomers in my life who have refused to retire or help me. I did this by refusing to participate in the system (well, beyond uni and student loans) and being frugal. I am not...

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

That was my thought, too. However, I could see no real benefit to the new UI beyond the fact that it looked "sleek" so that motivated me not just to complain, but to be very specific in how the poorly designed UI negatively impacted my workflow. Anyway, I was really (pleasantly) surprised, I...

    Auto Wipers are awful

They are doubling down and removed the stalk. Crazy. If they aren't able to solve the auto wiper issues via software, I wonder if they'll be forced to install hardware in the future. I am starting to wonder if things like the auto wipers weren't tested extensively enough outside of California.

    Honda blindspot camera

Agree, that would be pretty cool. The funny thing is that the only reason I regularly look at the visualization of the car on the MCU is to check my blindspot. Why would Tesla make the visualization available and prominent on the screen if they didn't want you to look at it while driving, even...

Cruise control / Auto Pilot is Garbage

Awwww shucks Mark, all you had to do was ask! Ask and ye shall receive :) Here's one from only 3 days ago! EAP began turning into a lane with a car in it. Notice the car in the other lane swerves out of the way, avoiding a crash. EAP then cancels the lane change. Front cam - attempted lane...

Does anyone feel like NoA has regressed since it first came out 2 years ago?

Yes. I loved NoA when it first came out. My little nieces and nephews thought it was the coolest thing because prior to it coming out they always wanted/expected the car to take its own turns. Then Tesla updated NoA and I stopped using it due to many of the issues you relate here.

    Autonomous Car Progress

That is an interesting question! I try to use EAP as intended - at least one hand on the wheel, paying attention to the road ahead - so while the disengagements I've experienced due to the sunlight have been startling (as they were unexpected), the situation wasn't immediately dangerous because...

    Autonomous Car Progress

Thanks for the link. Again, due to different latitudes, I don't think this video would be representative of Washington state in December, particularly in the afternoon. The sun would be different - different angle, different intensity, different reflections on the road.

    Autonomous Car Progress

Understood, thanks for clarifying that. Didn't mean to compare predictions between EAP and FSD, but rather the limitations of the hardware + sunlight.

    Autonomous Car Progress

Your experience lines up with recent (worsening) issues I've experienced with EAP and sunlight: Autopilot blinded, disengaged by sun on interstate I think "edge case" sunlight has the potential to cause major safety issues with autonomous driving. I put edge case in quotes because for folks at...

Anyone else dislike the new UI?

This is exactly where my apprehension lies with Tesla's intense focus on FSD. It seems novel issues can arise relating to core car functionality due to the implementation of new technologies - your 2005 BMW's functioning auto wipers seems to be an example of that. The wipers and Tesla's...
