Since I have had 6 sets of tires (most of them different tires each time,) I thought I would share which ones I like. I do NOT work for a tire place or get any kick-backs, so these are my recommendations as of today. First choice (& best rated according to Discount Tire,) Yokohama ADVAN...

    200,000+ Mileage Club

When I first started shopping, Discount Tire did not have any tires for the Tesla. Now they have plenty. I always get tires with at least a 40,000 mile warranty - so I won't have to pay full price on the next set. After getting the best alignment you can get on your car, you should be able to...

    200,000+ Mileage Club

Correct. I only stay at SC's long enough to reach the next one, which is between 50-80 minutes. Don't EVER get a small battery if you drive distance. A larger battery lets you charge at a higher Wattage, higher Amperage, and shorter amount of time. I was the test-case to prove this. I will...

    200,000+ Mileage Club

I don't think there are many of us, but I drive 1,000 miles a week. I passed the 200,000 mileage point, so I thought I would share info on my small worn-out 60 battery. My FULL charge is 170: My 80% charge is 151: I drive fast, but my average usage is 352 Watt Hours/mile: I charge...

Spoke with construction Again. The late night workers in the rain is because they hit a water main. Digging 4 ft was not deep enough. They need to redig under the street 7 ft this time, before they can run lines to the transformer. They will be gone next week after stripping & landscape...

    Supercharger - Southlake, Texas

I spoke with construction. They are angry because they must wait 2 weeks for Oncor to drop the transformer and run the lines from the other side of the street to the transformer, before they can finish: They are re-grading the last 4 positions because the angle is too high for Handicapped...

    Supercharger - Southlake, Texas

Spoke with construction today, they came from installing CO SC's. They said they should be done within 3 weeks, but ONCOR has to bore under the street to get power to the traqnsformers. There could be some delays.

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

FYI, the transformer is REALLY loud! There is a ton of power in here. Transformers lose 3% of energy, even if there is nothing being used. The meter shows there has been nothing used - yet. I bet Tesla shows up tomorrow to turn the thing on.

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

I'll bet construction finishes tomorrow (signs, concrete, & electrician must be there during Inspection,) but when the Tesla staff shows up - THAT is when we want to be there. They don't like us talking to them (or taking pictures,) but I saw the guy when he was working in Denton changing the...

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

I would, but with no electric meter - there is no juice. Maybe I can get lucky enough to visit the same time Tesla turns it on, and report the opening. Arlington is fast on inspections, so I'll bet the concrete is poured, signs get installed & inspections happen tomorrow. I would also bet...

When I spoke with the electrician, he confirmed those pipes are NOT for Gen 3, or Tesla Power Paks. They are for possible customer-side transformers if the Voltage is not perfect. This happened in Sulphur Springs, and they added them. Seems to be standard on new installs now.
  18. jaysquyres

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

They are finished except for a tiny bit of concrete: Unfortunately, there is still no meter: But the electrician is finished! The incoming side is also finished and sealed: The drains are here: and there is nothing where the future Generators could be installed: it does need...

Forms are poured and they are filling in the dirt. Installing the Dispensers next week: The electrician ran his lines from the Transformer to the Distribution cabinet: This Transformer converts 12,470 Volts down to 3-phase 480 Volts: I asked about the Tesla batteries going into the vacant...

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

Getting an update last night during the TX Rangers Home Opener was not easy. I'm guessing as to why there has been a delay for the Dispensers: They didn't dig deep enough. There are more placed, but very wet. Looks like they dug deeper and there is more space under the Dispenser forms. I...

I suspect it's for Gen 3 Upgrade. This is being installed as Gen 2 (120kw per charger) but Elon has tweeted about having chargers greater than 350kw. Reasons I believe this are: A. Anyone that has seen the Superchargers at other locations know there is 2 tall distribution cabinets (Red)...

    Supercharger - Arlington, TX

Correct. This box is where heavy power is split, and continues to the Transformer. Oncor appears to be finished, and this will be a Gen 2 Super Charger. I was really hoping it was going to be a Gen 3 with such heavy power - but it's not going to be. If inspections allow, we could be live in...

The Arlington Contract states 10 parking spots & the red paint goes down over 10 parking spots. There is a new Electrical Contractor and permit for this dated 02/14/17 (WSE LLC.) 150,000 miles. How much Energy did it use?

Full battery used to be 208 at start, now full battery is 185. I charge daily, use Super Chargers & CHAdeMO's, and usually charge to 80%.

150,000 miles. How much Energy did it use?

Oncor (our REP) pays a maximum of 10k/year. We installed 10k - 3 years in a row to get to our 30k system. We use a ton of energy in our house, but at least we are Net-Zero - including the Tesla!

I think the whole row is Handicapped (30 spaces,) so they wanted to put them the farthest away. They probably have the same rules as Whole Foods & Central Market: EV or Handicapped. Here is my son at the one by our house:

I went by today, no construction yet. There have been survey crews out (according to staff,) and he thought there would only be 4 spaces? I thought they mentioned 10. He pointed to the first 4 Handicap spaces is where they will go. I marked it with a Red circle:

Lindale is still closed. Transformer is in, meter is installed, but shows ZERO's on the meter. Spoke with the manager to find out what the problem is, he was told the Fuses keep blowing and Tesla needs 2 more weeks to repair. I have the 60 battery, so getting to Shreveport will be difficult...

The Certificate of Occupancy was completed on Wed Mar 15, 2016. This means the work is complete and they can legally move in. The contractor can still work, but at least we know they are allowed to move in - that is why I went by yesterday to take pics. The contractor is the one that told me...
