Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

There seems to be some confusion on how to open the door... [edit] But that's been the case with every new model except the Y, come to think of it.

What’s the part number for this cargo liner? There is one on Amazon that one reviewer claims does not work with the seats folded. Thanks!

Just charged here. The car map says there are 8 stalls but there are actually 12. I plugged in at the last one and charged for free. FYI. (edit for clarity)

The car makers get the benefit of still not selling any, and being able to point out that no one wants EVs even with such huge subsidies, so can we all just go back to ICE now?

Indeed. Tesla does not need this event, in fact is probably better off not being included, because the distinction is that much more obvious to everyone: Tesla does not make EVs, at least as the term is understood by legacy auto and the general public. “EVs“ are a ghetto invented by legacy auto...

Big “iTunes for Windows” vibes. That was the gateway into the Apple universe for millions of unwashed Windows plebes and it was huge for Apple. Although Apple purists hated the idea at the time.

I transferred my shares to IB after TD Ameritrade (who I’d been with for 20+ years) ghosted me when I asked about margin loan rates. Currently planning to take advantage of a nice 1.29% rate at IB for some business plans… unless the bleeding goes on much longer, then I may have to make a Plan B 😬

I scrolled back a few pages and haven’t seen mention of this new ARK whitepaper on solar, storage, and crypto mining: https://t.co/EH3NPRKILa When I said a few months back that Tesla could literally create a brand new economy based on energy, this is what I was talking about. Another piece of...

I’ve had a crazy idea for awhile that Tesla is going to end up inventing a whole new economy based on sustainable energy production and storage, backed by blockchain. I'm not smart enough to put all the pieces together, but Powerwalls and Autobidder are in there somewhere. A stake in BTC also...

Saying they only turned a profit because of credit sales is so out of context it’s meaningless. Like saying the only reason my football team won is because they scored more points than the other team.

How does fsd beta get smarter?

Ok, first of all, “over a million” does not equal “millions”. Tesla just made their millionth car in March. Second, I didn’t say anything about approval. I said I thought it was pretty clear from context that when Elon said “robotaxis on the road” he was referring to rolling stock capable of...

How does fsd beta get smarter?

This is constantly being taken out of context. At Autonomy Day, Elon said that by the end of 2020 there would be 400K Tesla cars on the road with the capability to become robotaxis “at the flip of a switch”, i.e. whenever the software was ready. He was touting Tesla’s hardware suite and...

    12 Volt battery died yesterday

Not totally sure what you mean, but one of the windows (I forget which) did roll down on its own at some point while we were trying to figure out what was happening. Are you saying it does that on purpose to keep you from getting locked out of the car? Pretty smart if so.

How does fsd beta get smarter?

“We have, hopefully, a wide release by the end of this year." -Elon, on the Q3 conference call The usual Elon-time disclaimer applies, of course, but they haven’t been taking that long to go from beta to release. Smart Summon took about 6 months, IIRC.

    12 Volt battery died yesterday

Had mine fixed this morning, it took 15 minutes, half of which was me shooting the breeze with the ranger. I watched so I could DIY it next time. He did mention disconnecting the HV battery if the 12V wasn’t completely dead, but I forgot to ask how to do that. There’s really only one thing...

    12 Volt battery died yesterday

I just told her that 1) I could change it myself and not have to wait, but that would mean paying out of pocket vs waiting for warranty service; and 2) I’ve had to replace a dead 12V in the ICE SUV at least twice, so nothing to see here. :p

    12 Volt battery died yesterday

My 12V died 2 nights ago in my garage (2018 Model 3, 33K miles, had it exactly 2 years today). I didn’t get any warnings ahead of time. Luckily, I was home at the time. We were going to take it on a road trip this weekend, so I’m glad it decided to fail first. Mobile service scheduled for...

This. It follows directly from their first principle. EVs suck and nobody wants one. Tesla makes EVs. Therefore, Teslas suck and nobody wants them. Only a short hop from there to demand problems, fwaud, bankwuptcy, Tesla-killers, etc. etc.

Just to expand on this idea a little more: money has always been a proxy for resources under one’s control, which itself is a proxy for energy (classical definition: the ability to do work).
