I took delivery today. It was -1 outside at the time. My SA helped my with the extensive checklist I brought along. Everything seemed in line and "within tolerance". My tolerance. VIN is 860xxx, got the "old" headlights. From reading other posts here it seems I was about four or five build days...

I pick mine up on Wednesday, so I can let you know then. Just kidding. Speaking only for myself, I do feel more enthused about this new car than any other that I've ordered/owned.

I take delivery here in MN on Wednesday. I was told to call my SA when I arrive. They will unlock my car at which point I can inspect all I want. Only after I'm satisfied will I be signing the paperwork, which will be waiting for me in the vehicle. I'm resigned to the fact I won't be getting...

That's awful. I can totally understand your concerns. However, I would give it a few days. Perhaps drive your brand new 2021 M3 some more. Customize some of the settings. Feel the torque when you floor the accelerator. Drive past a few gas stations and wave. That may cure you. Or your symptoms...

My delivery date was updated overnight and actually pushed back a little bit. Was 11/26-12/24; now 12/3-12/31. Still no VIN. Blue over white. Was kind of looking forward to taking delivery before any major snowfall here in southern Minnesota.

I totally agree. Just went through this entire process and the Hubbell outlet is DEFINITELY the way to go. More expensive for sure, but you're getting what you pay for.

Asking as a newbie: So when you say "preheat", does that mean turning on seat warmers and climate control to like 75 degree a few minutes before departing on a cold morning?

I'm in a similar situation (and climate) wanting to wait for a heat pump. I'm trying to be patient for confirmation of M3 having them.

Thank you all for this informative discussion. Now, if someone would let me know as soon as they know the M3 is being built with a heat pump, I can pull the trigger and get this beauty ordered. Please. And thank you!

Nate: I'm new here but wanted to say "thanks" for being so generous. I'm planning to place my order (M3 LR AWD) in a couple of weeks and I've already bought most of my accessories.

Due to finances and the unknown timing about the heat pump, I'm holding off until it is confirmed that the heat pump is in the M3. Up here in the frozen North it will definitely be an advantage.

bannedgoose: In a word, YES. Other Minnesota owners I've spoken with have said they've experienced up to a 30% loss in range when it gets really cold here. I won't be ordering my Model 3 until I have confirmation it will come with a heat pump. If any of you can help me with that confirmation...
