Model S gone in less than 60 seconds

I had a Model 3 and hated it because of the Key Card / Phone key options (among other things). I went back to the S because of the features it has that make it easy to operate, like passive entry. I don't want to be slowed up by having to enter a pin every time I drive or unlock it every time...

    Standard Range S coming back?

Come on, do you really have to ask? It's Tesla, of course it's going to change. It'll be back, then cancelled, then back, then cancelled, then......well, you get the point.

V10 is coming with "Caraoke" -- A functioning music player would also be nice :)

Wow, lots and lots of complaints for something that hasn't even been released yet!!!! Geeze. You all do know that you have the option to NOT update your car to V10 right? I'm mean, I know it's difficult and all, but really, it's just a matter of NOT doing it.

    Returned our lease yesterday!

Tesla (US Bank actually), didn't charge me for having tinted windows. I also added a spoiler and a front valance. Funny thing is, the front valance was carbon fiber and got a small crack in it and they charged me to repair it, even though it was an aftermarket part. Something like $350. If I had...

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

I was very, very, very close to going with the X. Ease of entry to the rear seats was the one thing holding me back as I do have quickly get in and out of the rear and the thought of waiting for falcon wing doors finally made me go with the S. After reading this thread, I guess I'm really glad I...

Pre Raven Refresh 2019 Long Range Model X or 2019 Raven Refresh Model X?

I went Raven. SO happy I did. I've had several Tesla since 2013. Never really noticed much of a difference in overall feel from one to the next. Expected this one would be much the same. Was pleasantly surprised at how big a difference the Raven upgrade really is. This combined with Tesla's...

New Raven Model S Long Range - Range Question

Just got a new Raven S. Same thing. 90% range calculates to about 361 miles if charged to 100%. More than enough range for me. Biggest thing for me though is that the wh/mi in the Raven is far less than it was in my prior S. So far, only 279 wh/mi versus 328 wh/mi in my old S. So, the Raven...

    Tesla Model S Front splitter/spoiler/sip ???

Wanting to get a carbon fiber front lip spoiler for my 2019 Model S. Seeing a few limited options. Some are VERY REASONABLY priced under $600 while there are several others for well over $1,500. Considering it almost certainly will get beat up from every day use. Do see being willing to spend...

Trying to buy a used model 3 performance

As others stated, just have them send a picture of the Auto Pilot screen on the car. Side note: Beware about buying a Tesla from a dealer. Tesla apparently will not allow you to extend the warranty on a used car purchased from a non-Tesla dealer. Not a big deal now since it's under factory...

Musk confirms purpose of inside cabin camera

We're only about 10 years away from the car being capable and government approval of actually being able to send your car off to work without you. Advance thinking. In the meantime, would be nice if they would find a way to adopt the camera to a similar AP check to make sure the driver is paying...

Tesla Cam captures drunk hitting wall on freeway.

It was just for a second to be able to read the license plate for 911. Fortunately the Tesla has good brakes!! :) And, the Tesla Cam is pretty zoomed in, so it appears I was more beside him than I really was. Not sure I was even up beyond his rear bumper. If so, just barely. Only appears that...

Anyone interested in splitting a set of Model 3 wheels to get a spare tire?

Thank you jsmay311. From those photos, looks like it will fit in the deep portion of the trunk and leave the rest of the trunk open for luggage and such.

Anyone interested in splitting a set of Model 3 wheels to get a spare tire?

Thanks @Campfamily. I sent a reply to you. Please let me know if you are confirmed. I found one other, so just need one more and will get them. @MentalNomad - My plan is only take it with me on long distance trips. Around town, I figure I'm close enough to tire shops or a Tesla Service center...

Anyone interested in splitting a set of Model 3 wheels to get a spare tire?

After reading some threads on the forums about flat tire nightmares, especially one recently, thinking I should get a spare tire for the Model 3 since I do a good amount of long distance travel. Thought about one of the space saver kits, but if I'm on a long distance trip over the weekend...

    P90DL v3 vs. P100D (worth a 1 year wait?)

Whatever you do, would make sure the car you get has the AP2 hardware. That will allow you to benefit from all the latest features of AP and full self driving if it ever comes available. With the latest updates, AP1 is falling behind. Up until the Nav on AP feature, they were about equal. Nav on...

Nag Differences Between Model S and Model 3

Just a guess, but the steering sensitivity in general is lighter in the Model 3 than the Model S. Hence, the wheel is easier to turn in the Model 3 and therefore guessing that it's also easier to satisfy the torque requirement since it takes less force/weight to move the Model 3 steering wheel...

    P3D+ really lowered?

It's a ridiculously unacceptable gap on the Model 3 standard. The Performance version is lower by about an inch, but agreed, still too high. That just goes to show how ridiculously high the standard version is. With the performance version, it's just high, rather than ridiculously high. Both...

    I hate closing the frunk

Sad that closing the frunk is such a process that you have to worry about damaging your car. Amazing that, after all the complaints over the first Model S, that they continued the same procedure in the X and 3. There are different laws regarding the closing of the front "hood", so i understand...

Model 3 Key Fob is here: $150

Battery will not prevent you from scanning the fob. The battery is only for the push buttons. It has a chip in it and functions exactly like a key card. The battery allows you to lock and unlock the car from a distance by pressing the buttons. If the battery ever goes dead, unlike most fobs, you...

Do you not like the front, namely the headlights? Found a potential solution?

Just found that it looks like someone came up with a different solution. Probably a much more legal option. And no, this isn't my listing. I'm not sure about it, would have to see it in person to see if it fits naturally, but I like the idea of it. Tesla Model 3 Black Gloss Smoked Headlight...

    The Great Key fob unboxing

OK, well if this "crime syndicate" comes to my house to steal my car, pretty sure whether it's locked or unlocked isn't going to make a damn bit a difference.

    The Great Key fob unboxing

Oh, so very NOT true. Insurance company cannot deny a claim because someone stole your car and it wan't locked. First off, how would they know if it was locked or not. Second off, I'm not too worried about someone breaking into my garage and stealing my car. If they're breaking into my garage...

Or you can press any button the key fob to let it know that it's you. Instead of swiping the card or key fob, pressing any button will reset the 2 minute clock to allow you to start the car. Model 3 Key Fob is here: $150

Yes, it will fit. Model 3 key fob is the same size as the Model S key fob. The Model X key fobs are apparently larger, but the Model 3 and S key fobs I can verify firsthand that the Model S key fob sleeves/pockets/covers (whatever you want to call them) will work on the 3 key fobs. I had extras...

Poll: Model 3 Phone Key Failure Rate

Tesla has key fobs for the Model 3 now. Well, they did. They're sold out after the first day of being offered, but keep checking the Tesla store for when they're back in stock again.

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

You have the option to scan the key fob, just like a key card. Or, you can push the unlock button on the key fob to unlock the door and enable you to start the car. It will not recognize the fob inside the car unless its on the center console where you currently scan the key card.

    Model 3 Nose (grille) comparison

Saw this browsing the internet. Someone's comparison of the Model 3 front end. Funny as heck, but also true. :D
  32. L

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

The only hope is that Tesla will update the software over time to give it more capabilities. Until then, for those that expected it to act more like a traditional key fob in the S, X or other cars in this price range, temper those expectations, otherwise you'll be disappointed.
  33. L

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

Confirmed that the key fob for the Model 3 is very limited in capability. It will not summon, it does not have passive entry, it will not auto-lock the doors as you walk away, it will not be recognized by the car as being present. You can remotely unlock the doors, trunk and frunk with it. It...

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

Do you have stats from somewhere that says everyone carries a cell phone with them every time they leave the house? Or that everyone has a phone glued to them 24/7? Despite a large majority of people being addicted to their phones, not everyone likes carrying around a bulky phone with them every...

Model 3 Key Fob is here: $150

Says it doesn't support passive "entry". Assuming that the "walk away lock" option you can turn on or off inside the car, will still work? So, I think passive entry only applies to unlocking the doors when you walk up. I can live with that. Certainly better than the options we had yesterday! :-)

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

I feel you on this one!! M work around.....I velcroed my garage remote to the back of my screen, right in the middle. Hidden out of sight, but I can just reach under the screen, press the button and viola!. My reason was more because auto open/close is so hit and miss and I hate having to fumble...

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

I was referring to new car purchased going forward. I'm sure people that already own their cars will have to purchase them. But it sounds like, once they're available, they will be included as one of the key options with all new cars. When that starts? Is anyone's guess.

Selling my Model 3 for a Performance

Funny how the first thing some people are always concerned with when people say they're selling their car, is that they have to give back the Tax credits or rebates!!! What's it anyone's concern what a seller does or doesn't do. How do you know if they even collected the tax credit or rebate...

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

When I called, and reading posts from others that have called, Tesla still isn't saying what the cost will be. Keep in mind, service center workers typically have no more clue than we do when it comes to things yet to be officially released. It blows me away at how good Tesla is at keeping...

Anyone else getting Fobs with late number VIN?

I wouldn't count on actually getting the key fobs when you pick up the car. According to many, including my own personal call to Tesla, key fobs are not yet available and likely won't be until sometime in 2019. They're probably included in the price of your car and like the emblems and spoilers...

Do you not like the front, namely the headlights? Found a potential solution?

The tint on the headlights is certainly not legal. But don't the headlights come on automatically during the day anyway. So are the DRL's really needed? Wondering if just tinting over the extreme white portion of the headlight, leaving the actual headlight clear? I think the tint helps make it...

Do you not like the front, namely the headlights? Found a potential solution?

I've never been a fan of the front end of the Model 3. Didn't like it when it was revealed and unfortunately, it never grew on me. From the side and rear, I think the car looks amazing. Basically just a smaller version of the Model S. The front though, for me, of course my own personal...

Wider Pilot Sport 4S tires on stock 18-inch wheels installed and tested

On my Model S, I went with a 275/30/21 instead of the stock 245/35/21. The lower series kept the diameter the same, yet gave me a wider patch on the road, while keeping the same height and not impacting speedometer readings. I've never been a fan of the smaller/narrower tire on a wider trim...

Navigate on Autopilot is Going to Cause Accidents

I think they should just program it to change lanes like most other California drivers. No blinker, no look, just swerve into the next lane whenever the hell they want to. If there's a car there, screw them. What the hell were they thinking being on your road and in your way?! :-)

Navigate on Autopilot is Going to Cause Accidents

LOL, so while everyone else patiently waits in line for the transition to the next freeway, you're one of the ones that speeds past it all and then cuts in yourself?? LOL. 200 kWh Roadster Pack: How is Tesla Pulling This Off?

Didn't have time to read through all of the posts. But all the talk is about a 200 kWh battery. My question is, is it really necessary to have that big of a battery? A 5000 lb P100D does 0-60 in what, 2.5 seconds? Wouldn't a 3000 lb P100D do close to 1.9 just from saving 2,000 lbs? Then the car...

Navigate on Autopilot is Going to Cause Accidents

Nav on AP is NOT going to cause accidents. Drivers relying on a Driver "Assist" system too heavily will cause accidents. I think it's great that Tesla released this feature as it needs real world data to be able to improve. As with AP, it's NOT a driver "replacement". It simply is a tool that's...

    Nav on Autopilot

I love the concept of it and truly appreciate what Tesla is doing and love doing my small part to assist in its improvements. My consistent experiences with Nav on AP so far have been......(And I share this in a positive light, not a complaining manner, again, because I understand that it's...
