Yeah, the next rotation I did, we tried to put the Tesla caps in and sure enough, they didn't set flush and there was much sadness.

2019.8.3 — still no range boost?

On 2019.8.2 and did a charge from 24 miles remaining to full. Full is showing 307 miles. My original full charge at purchase was 313 (last April). My 90% charge has been showing 280 instead of the usual 279 though. Take it for what you will.

Major NoA and other software updates today?

I believe most of those features (Sentry, extended range, faster 0-60) were part of the big push starting on Monday to get 5.15/16 to a majority of the Model 3's.

    Any last minute guesses?

I personally wish they would have done manual/hydraulic falcon wing doors. Just like they cut out the automation in the door handles on the 3, a manual falcon wing would be good for me. Of course, there are still the drawbacks of that door design.

    What are your charging habits?

Typically charge to 90%, drive until 80-100 miles remaining (usually every 3-4 days), repeat.

What's the best way to get the center caps out if the wheel is already on the car? I've tried suction cupping to no avail. That being said, I'm also near certain I'll have the issue with the Tesla center caps not sitting flush.

POLL: Do you use the Frunk on your Model 3?

Stinky cheese is all the rage right?

Won't Shift in to Reverse or Drive

Strange, after never seeing this issue before, it has happened twice in the last week. First time I rebooted the car to success. Second time, reboot didn't fix, so I gambled with the key card, which worked. I'm surprised the message to apply the key card doesn't appear.

POLL: Do you use the Frunk on your Model 3?

I put my bag, shoes, ball, and towel in the frunk for basketball. Then I throw my sweaty shirt in there when done. Also togo food is put in the frunk.

How accurate are your parking sensors?

As far as I know, the car will put the "STOP" message and tone once you are less than 12" away from a perceived object.

Potential owner- 24hr M3 test drive observations

Have you happened to check to see if it is on one of the FM HD channels? I've lucked out here and the two AM channels I prefer are broadcast over a couple of FM HD sub-channels so don't have to mess with the TuneIn stuff.

Need to schedule an appointment with service center. Does not seem like mobile dispatch will replace the headlamp unit from other reports.

do you drive better or worse, faster or slower than in the past?

If I'm actually driving (no EAP/TACC) on open freeways, my rate of asshole maneuvers has gone up. I'll even catch myself thinking "if someone did that in front of me, there would be frustrations voiced in this car!" and then I feel bad.

    Accent Headlight

To update the thread on post-headlight replacement, I noticed last week that now my driver side (same as light was change) blinker is blinking rapidly. The audible sound is on pace, but the blinker is very quick. So much so that the short blink (3 blink) push of the stalk completes in one...

The service center replaced my driver side headlamp housing on Friday for this.

Took the car into service center today. They dropped the new headlamp and damaged it during the install. Now trying to see if the other nearby service center has one available. Meanwhile, no loaners available, so getting Lyft to work. They will deliver the car to me when it is complete though.

Funny, my (blue) Model 3 will be heading into the service center on Friday for this exact issue. Not sure if I'm relieved or bummed that it seems to be so sporadic. Also, good call on the clearbra over the headlamp... Should I ask the service center about whether or not they will cover the...

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

This is what I thought of when driving home. Should have said, that if Tesla used the camera for driver awareness then little hand holding is needed. But since it’s the only system we currently have, it should be used. If you are absolutely paying attention, you’ll be fine realistically with...

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

For me it’s the latter. When Tesla gets to level 4+ automation hands won’t matter. Until then, I still promote a healthy level of distrust with the system.

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

I'm willing to be educated here. Have a link to the CR report? Also, isn't Super Cruise advertised as a hands free driving system? EDIT: Did some Googling, and this is what I found from CR: "We found when we tested the system that it works best when drivers keep their hands off the wheel...

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

You seem VERY certain about your claim of absolute 0%. Willing to stake a P3D on it? Your reaction time is greater when your hands are away from the wheel than on it? Also, do you think the people purchasing or using devices to circumvent nags are doing it so they can be more aware with their...

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

If simply resting your hand on the wheel still results in constant nagging, then maybe it's time to visit a SC. There isn't any tugging or excessive draining force being applied to my steering wheel.

AutoPilot Buddy now officially banned in USA!

Having a system in place to minimize the impact of your desire to put other people in danger with your disregard for the capabilities of the system is not getting into everyone's business.

What’s the average Wh/mi you are getting

Driving scenarios really matter a lot too. For example, most of my weekday driving is in heavy stop-n-go traffic and low speed driving. Lot of regen usage. Also, if your commute is short and filled with red lights, you may find you have a higher energy usage. Co-worker lives close to work...

What’s the average Wh/mi you are getting

2800 miles with Aeros removed, and sitting at 224 lifetime (was 222 before weekend trip). It's a good split of commuting traffic where I go from 185-200ish to weekend fun where it will run 240-250.

Would not update car if you have a road trip coming soon

Went on a trip this weekend with 200 miles on AP and received an excruciating THREE whole nags (/s). One was when I had been off the wheel for a while, and the other two were on boringly straight paths of the highway where i felt the car never adjusted itself and the wheel maintained in...

Deliveries have ceased - where are all the cars going?

Any car you waiting delivery in Texas has had its VIN assigned to the owner and paid for. Tesla will tell you they will not put a car on a trailer headed for this state unless it is fully funded. I've always thought a staging area in Oklahoma would have been great for Tesla to do, but their...

Inside of hood not fully painted.

If you're talking about deep inside the hexagonal holes, every Model 3 I've seen has been that way. The parts that are painted are just overspray that went through. If somewhere in that reflection mess there is surface paint missing, maybe drawing some circles would help.
