Thoughts on Tesmat camping mattress for Model 3

I purposely quoted the portions of your previous response that happened to be the subject of my follow up questions. I would still be interested in answers to those follow up questions, if you get the chance. But judging by your response above, you may spend more time inventing products than...

Thoughts on Tesmat camping mattress for Model 3

I use the Tesla All-Weather Cargo Mat, so does that mean these wouldn't work as well for me and would slide around? I see that you corrected for this by adding a rigid board under part of the mats; however, in this video (specifically at 0:30 of the video), it seems like each board only has...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

    1) No, 90 is a bit excessive. But 80mph on the freeway is certainly common. 2) I rarely use my friction brakes, 3) I have the stock 20" wheels and tires that came with the car. 4) Regarding AC/Heat, I leave the climate on about 70 degrees during the summer. I'm usually parking it in a garage (in...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

I would say "plenty of range for daily use," but definitely not for road trips. Is it manageable? Yes, it is (especially since we have a lot of Superchargers in California). And I'm willing to manage it since I enjoy other aspects of the car, and road trips are a low'ish percentage of my usage.

    Model 3 camping mode?

Interesting--that was the other thing I wondered about. So wherever you choose to "camp" it really does need to be relatively close to a Supercharger or other charging solution.

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

The other way to fix the problem would be to just have a bigger battery. If it had a 100kw battery, then it would be a perfect amount of range at my 324 Wh/mi. My last car was a 911, and it easily got over 300 miles on the highway on a tank of gas regardless of how I drove it. Although, in the...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

Been a while since I checked in here, and coming up on a year since my original post. As you can see, it's continued to settle slightly. At 14,734 total miles driven, the average has come down to 324 Wh/mi. The range issue is certainly still an annoyance in an otherwise good car. But since my...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

I'm up around 6,500 miles now, and it's settled at an average of 335 wh/mi with all driving in Southern California. I kind of like the idea of some of these Unplugged Performane/Efficiency upgrades--if I can improve the handling performance AND the efficiency, that seems like a win/win: How do...

4 months since delivery, still waiting on seat...

Still not fixed. It's been 7 months. It's clear that the sales person completely lied to me to get me to take the car off the lot. This issue is my biggest gripe with Tesla, and it's really inexcusable. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this has really pissed me off. And every...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

Those seem like pretty good numbers. I'm in Southern California, so my definition of "cold weather" is high 50's to low 60's! I haven't really paid attention closely to the Wh/mi on individual trips, but when I have, I've never seen anything close to 245.

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying it is presented more as a real world range, and it's hard to compare to EPA gas mileage estimates because EV Range is infinitely more important in a practical sense versus MPG in a gas car. This is from Tesla's Model 3 homepage: I don't think it's crazy...

4 months since delivery, still waiting on seat...

Hmm.. Well, judging by the feedback, I guess my problem is not super unique. I have been staying on top of them via email. Some guy got assigned to my case, and I email him every few weeks to see if there's an update, but he always just comes up with a long winded way to say "no update." A...

4 months since delivery, still waiting on seat...

Are other people still waiting for Tesla to repair their cars months after taking delivery? Is there a better strategy to get Tesla to fix things? I picked up my car on 9/30/18 and multiple items were damaged upon arrival. I gave Tesla the benefit of the doubt, and took them at their word that...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

Regarding all the advice about not running the heater, what do most people do? I've just been turning the temperature down to where it's not much higher than the outside ambient temperature reading. I don't like turning it off completely, since I lose ventilation. But I actually prefer a lower...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

They make kind of a futuristic zooming noise when accelerating. I don't mind it, and I figured it was just the way it is. But, as I mentioned, this is my first Tesla and first electric car, so I don't have much to compare it to. I had a Model S for a week or so while they worked on the issues...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

Ok, just checked, and it's not quite so bad overall. But it's still 332 wh/mi over 951 miles total. The last trip was 396 wh/mi! (in the rain though). I have a couple of small hills where I live, but not that many to contend with. I rarely use the friction brakes at all given how strong the...

By the way, I just clicked on the "Tesla Corsa" link in your signature--that looks like a lot of fun! Hopefully, with the advice here, I could make it to Buttonwillow Racetrack (about 185 miles away) without Supercharging 3 times!

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

I was just looking at this recently. The computer was stating something like this for the four tires: (42) - (45) (45) - (42) That was after a little bit of driving to warm them up. I suppose I should try to even this out up to the recommended PSI level.

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

Not totally--it's been really mixed driving (but I'm only coming up on 1,000 miles on the odometer). I have 12 mile commute to work with no freeway and numerous traffic lights. When I do get on the freeway, I'd certainly go 80mph if it's clear, but I'm in Orange County (SoCal), and there's often...

Disappointing Range in P3D. Is this normal?

I picked up my car a couple months ago, but it initially went into the shop, so I've just recently been getting used to it. My first Tesla and first electric car, so still learning. One of the things that has been kind of a disappointment has been the range I'm getting from the car. I have...

I booked an appointment today. He's booked until next month (~2 weeks out for Marina Del Ray, and 4 weeks out for Torrance). Track mode exclusive to P3D+

P3D with Performance Upgrade and Black Interior status

Yep, I just don't remember ever seeing an edit button in this location, and I certainly don't have one there now. I filled out all the license, registration, insurance info, etc. immediately after ordering, so I sort of wonder if finishing all of this played a part in locking things in.

Unlimited supercharging for performance model 3's

Have to admit, I'm pretty pleased about getting free supercharging on my upcoming performance model, but I don't think this will change my behavior one bit. Roll Call: Who Ordered a P-AWD without Performance Upgrade?

I ordered the Performance upgrade because I just had to have those aluminum pedals. Seriously though, I ordered on 6/29 and at that time, it wasn't totally clear to me what the upgrade entailed, so I looked at it as a $5k insurance policy to ensure I got all the performance oriented features...

    Any Porsche defectors?

Absolutely--especially if it was around the $75k-$80k rumored price point (Same as the optioned out Model 3 Performance). But for reasons others have stated, that's probably an unlikely real world price, and it will go far above that with basic options, and I think I'm at the top of what I'm...

    Any Porsche defectors?

    Flat tires? Fix-a-flat?

This is my position as well. Roadside assistance is always a huge hassle. I'd rather solve my own problem in 15 minutes and head to the tire shop. I've used my spare tire on my current car enough times in the last 6 years to be glad I have it. That said, I don't really fault Tesla for foregoing...

Performance Model 3s have arrived at Stores

I've been thinking about this. Nice examples from omar and zackmilo. I'm getting a Deep Blue Metallic performance Model 3 with the 20" wheels. I really like the glossy dark gray metallic color and how it provides just a bit of contrast to the black center caps and the tires. But I'm also...

Picking up tomorrow, Tesla said I have a 15 minute window to pickup, BS

Picking up tomorrow, Tesla said I have a 15 minute window to pickup, BS

It seems like people are focusing on the wrong issues with this topic. I'm sympathetic to someone that feels stressed over assuming ownership of a large purchase with only 5 minutes of inspection time, but what is the source of the stress? The root cause is the thought of taking ownership of the...
