Hi fellow century club members:

I jumped ship from the 60D to 100D. Figured, let's make a thread for current 100D buyers/owners.

My 100D is metallic blue with black leather seats, autopilot/full self driving, tow hitch, and 6 seaters.

Switched my order on Monday 1/23. Haven't gotten a VIN yet. will update when vin is posted.

I went from the 90D. I lumped the change in battery with color changes I had already been planning to make. Was able to limit the change fee to just one. Other than the battery, mine is pretty basic. MC Red with black leather and light headliner, EAP, and Tow package.

I originally ordered 12/10, confirmed 12/17. Changed the order on Saturday 1/21 and got my VIN with the previous order config the following morning, 1/22.

Waiting the see the update and my new projected delivery window. Switched from requested late date (end of line March 13) to earliest available. But don't want to get it at the end of March with the end of quarter delivery madness. Don't expect a March delivery, but should I push back delivery if it stays in March?

does your new order say you need to put a deposit down? I checked on my tesla and it still has the put the money down to confirm the order. I was hoping to use the deposit I put down before, as the new deposit.

That's quite a jump dr doom........an all or nothing move. What was the trigger?
I moved a little further from work and I have been thinking how I want to do more road trips and the 200 miles in the 60D wasn't going to get me much flexibility. the 60D was a really good value and definitely was bang for buck, a great deal. Just didn't suit me.

The deposit you had from before will transfer to the new order. But there's nothing yet on My Tesla for me about the new order. I'm surprised yours already does. You placed your change one day after me.

When I made my change my owners rep took my credit card information for the $500 change fee and that was it. That's the only charge that has shown up in my credit card account. Did they also take your credit card information for the change fee?

I got a charge to my credit card with 500 dollars change fee. I mean on the my tesla page, I have now two orders- the original order of 60D and the new 100D order. But the new 100D order still says I need to put a down deposit down even though DS said they would just transfer my old deposit to it. :I

Switched from 90D to 100D +$500 on 1/21.
Haven't seen anything new on My Tesla. OA took my CC on the phone since I didn't have the payment button he could see on his side.

Found out yesterday I have a neighbor a few houses down the block with a Midnight Silver X, though I don't think they have the white interior.

You might want to check with your Tesla person again. It looks like rather than modifying and transferring you old order to the new, they entered a new 100D order and left your old one intact.

I wonder what happens with the vin numbers for everyone who swapped. If someone had vin 40000 let's say you'd think it would be that number car off the line but if 5000 people cancle swapping to 100Ds before the old order even started to build. Does Tesla still build those 5000 cars then being stuck with the inventory or flat out abandoned them and the vins so #40000 is actually 35000? Or maybe they repurpose the vin numbers out of order?

If your order change doesn't affect the VIN, you get the same car. If your VIN actually changes with the order change, you essentially get a different car. They will still build the original vin and throw it into inventory. You see these pop up from time to time with an instant $500 discount. I don't think they can repurpose the vin out of order as that might affect recalls, parts orders, etc. as they typically go in VIN ranges.

Thought I would add what my Delivery Specialist wrote in email on the topic of changing a 90D order to a 100D. This is from yesterday. Disclaimer: Your mileage may and will vary -- so do your own homework on this. I'll share this info here, as it was helpful to me. This is quoting from on originally specified late Feb/March delivery timeframe.

"... Your order would be postponed by a couple weeks, but delivery would be likely to occur by the end of March. If you’d like to make this change, we will need to do so by the first week of February, no later than the 10th"

Take aways: There is a finite window to make the change. And the delay is being quoted as within the same quarter. Weeks, not months.

Again, your mileage will vary.

Yep. They cancelled my new order of 100D and going to modify the 60D to the 100D. Hoping this works out.
It will. That tracks with my experience. I was on the phone with her as she made changes. I was assuming it was a new order, so was reminding her of the other specifics of the order beyond the battery, but she said, no, those were already there, she was just putting in the changes I wanted. In my case it wasn't only the battery but the paint color and interior. And now I see why you had seen the 100D on your My Tesla so soon. Be prepared not to see any change to your 60D for a while. I made my change last Saturday and I'm still seeing my old configuration on My Tesla.

Living in NYC I would have expected you to get the sub zero package. Seat heaters is way to keep climate control lower in the winter and cost less energy for greater range. Other than that your configuration looks great.

Same comments here. Followers of this thread living in Northern climates -- Take Tesla up on the free full day test drive. The Sub Zero Heated Steering wheel is noteworthy -- this time of year. Worth the price -- I think so; but only you can decide.

I have a bmw that has a sub weather package with heated seats and steering wheel. Never really use it. I usually go gloveless when driving too. just get used to the cold air. it's also been a mild winter in nyc :)

High capacity battery enthusiasts / owners will be interested interested in this thread going on over in the Battery forum section:

"Search for the Super Battery" on PBS NOVA this week

It was an informative show last night. And highlighted the next potential doubling of capacity using polymers to replace the dangers of electrolyte.
I believe that NOVA has now posted the full video online now. See the OP of that thread for the link.
