I'm doubtful that longs are only giving Tesla a few weeks of leeway. Not my kind of long.

I'm giving Tesla 3 years to work out Model 3 production.

Well, to be serious, they have the rest of this year and if we're sub 1k/week for Q1 of next year, then they at least need to have a good and specific / tangible story to tell at the Q1 earnings call. But that's just me - the short term event that would get me to change my view of things is:
1) evidence that Model 3 is hard to manufacture, and is going to be worse than Model X (I have only seen the opposite).
2) evidende that the Model 3 reservation backlog is melting away, and it's not due to production / deliveries (I expect production and deliveries to create an increase in the backlog for more than the next year).

I'm expecting Tesla to have Model 3 production worked out in 2017.

Is it illegal to try and write articles with headlines that attempt to trigger algo-bots?

A headline that has "Tesla", "Self-Driving", "Dies", and "Death" that shows up on google for me if you search "tsla" right now. Is it obvious to others what this is trying to accomplish, or am I crazy?

Does google let you report fakenews yet?

Congrats! That looks beautiful. Have you had a chance to chit chat with the crew?

Thanks! Of course. I was being as least annoying as possible, but I'm a very curious fella and was asking all sorts of stuff.

Take this with a grain of salt, and also note this is coming from installers in OR.

Regarding solar roof. It's going to be a long time before it's available in OR. The regulations and codes here are more strict than CA. This is what two of the three electricians said. One of them has been working for Tesla for 8 yrs. They are on a need to know basis, and so they know just about as much as we do regarding solar roof.

Regarding Powerwall 2. Demand is bananas. Long backlog. They noted a lot of existing PV system owners want to add a powerwall. No powerwall with our system yet.

I overheard some of the other installers talking about reaching certain reward levels depending how many installations they complete (month or quarter, didn't hear that part well). Rewards range from credits for powerwalls, PV systems, and cars.

I asked if they knew of anyone wanting to install a powerpack in their home. None to their knowledge.

SP up nicely today. Always good to see. Icing on the cake on a day like today.

Thanks for the update. However, i should add caution: you should alert the installers about the powerwall that in reality it is a phantom device with no to negative value, and they should be aware that tesla will pay the homeowner for this device as it has no inherent value as a product to use or as a widget to sell--that's what i learned from reading all the analysts' advice and analysis. That is their job to analyze-- just sayin'

I would be super nervous if I was a short right now. Wsj had two back to back hit pieces - 4 lawfirms came out at the same time with same bs legal investigation and tesla performs like a porn Star the following day.

Trade em well.
I thought the Pomegranate law firm (whatever) was actually a rep for the UAW organizers. I'm not sure about the other groups, but I am pretty certain they have filed suits before. It will be interesting to see what shareholders any other law firms represent. Charley in the journal is amazing. He hangs with Speigal on twitter, and I think all the reliable sources between daily cancan and charley are each other. I don't know that, but they sure seem to be rubbing each others backs.
Anyhow, I don't like to gloat, cause the karma thing, and I'm better than that, but after reading some tweets and "news" the last couple of days, today's rally just makes me laugh. I wish I bought in a bit more, but am plenty invested for my risk budget.
Good luck longs, hope we get some good news from the plant and I hope Elon and the tech community at large, is able to help Puerto Rico recovery.

I remember the name Pomerantz, except for its spelling. They have advertised for class suits before, probably in search of a nuisance payoff. I think they did at the gtat debacle and I could have been tempted but for knowing their previous. Not an honorable way to make daily bread imho.

Thank you for the update; any piece of information (from a credible source) is valuable.

Good to hear Powerwall 2 demand is strong. I hope Tesla will at some point quantify what this means. Which order of magnitude are we talking?

Also, even if Solar Roof doesn't make it to OR (or any other state), demand in CA will probably keep Gigafactory 2 busy through 2018.

God bless Adam Jonas. Perfect timing against the FUD.

After following TSLA, fairly close for four years or so, I must say I do not trust one single analyst. Does not matter if they increase, decrease, seem pro, seem anti, in my opinion, they ALL have alternative motives. They are playing a different game.

The game effects my game short term, but my hopes are long term, if you pick the right product/company, no matter, how hard 'they' play, their results will be of no consequence to my game.

Search optimization is an industry. Check out 60 minutes story on Facebook and the 2016 election. A little sideways to search optimization, but interesting how Facebook will embed with the election teams to help them understand and target their markets. It is pretty obvious the Tesla haters know search index optimization. My google news for Tesla is always terrible. The search world of Tesla and Elon is up there with political figures. Definitely a lot of pros out there working to tarnish Tesla and Elon 24x7x365.
Ethical? Legal, no doubt about it. Free speech isn't just for people you like. The gray area would be areas where objectivity is expressed, but subjectivity or subversion is the intent. That is not easy to prove and probably time not well spent by Tesla. The articles thread was setup for TMC believers to help crowd source rational engagement with the haters. Elon fights these guys with product innovation and growing SpaceX and Tesla, the success of which more than negates the haters.
