2020.12.5 Rolling

Looks like we’re seeing the rollout of 2020.12.5 starting. TeslaFi shows cars getting it worldwide (including UK) with a mix of models and variants.

Anyone here have it? This is the release that’s rumoured to have the dashcam and sentry mode in-car player.

Question when it comes to updates.

If I'm given a chance to install 12.5.0:

1. If I install it, will I be offered the chance to also install 12.5.1 or x.x.2 when patches are released?
2. If I don't install and a new patch is then pushed out, will the car scrap the downloaded version and re-download the updated patched version and offer this for install?

Yes, you always get a chance to install the appropriate patched versions.

I checked this morning when I got to work and nothing yet

I did have it available so as usual turned off sentry and kicked off the install. About 20 mins later I got an update failed message and it’s no longer visible to try again.

Currently on 2020.8.2 with HW2.5 MCU1

will pop out later to give it a reboot just in case it helps show up again

Looks like a LR Model 3 just got it in the UK. There's a bunch in other European countries too so I imagine it's just a matter of time.

I am on HW2.5, no idea if I have actually got cones and unlikely to find out any time soon...

... although I am one of the vast army of volunteers that theoretically get activated this week so who knows, I may get some driving in sooner than expected...

And it seems only yesterday I got 8.3... Charging first, while the sun is out, then tick up to 12.5 (in time for some grocery deliveries if Sainsbury's doesn't come through with a slot for my parents' account).

So I now have 2020.8.2 reinstalling after the failed 2020.12.5 so who knows what went wrong.

2020.12.5 was waiting to install on my Model S when I went out this morning at 07:00. Installed when I returned at 10:30, took about 25 miniutes.

I just noticed that the sentry timeline above is 10:49 long rather than multiple files of just under a minute. A more friendly approach and even better if they have improved the behaviour of the non contiguous timeline/non gapless recordings. Hopefully it is easy to scrub through the video.

I did hear that frame rate was not good though. Not sure what hardware that was on though.

I posted a new thread for 2020.12.5 as 2020.12.5.X has different release notes to 2020.12.0.X/.1 whereas the 2020.8.1/.2/.3 were effectively bug fixes and iterations on the same thing.
