I guess she (Triton Ace) will not dock to get the pilot onboard ? just slow down close to land and pick him/her up ?
It looks as though she doesn't need one. (There is still a chance she might pick one up from Cherbourg)
If the bridge team speak good English are experienced and well acquainted with European waters and procedures then they don't need one.

Not to be nitpicking but it does not have to change direction to be classified as a windshear, at least not in aviation. :)
"Wind shear is defined as a sudden change of wind velocity and/or direction"

Maybe nautical windshear definition is different

Anyway, does it look like Triton is headed for Cherbourg to pick up a pilot or is it just me ? hehe
Edit: looks like she might just be headed for the "right lane" of channel traffic

GLOVIS CRYSTAL is doing well - she's still maintaining just above 12kts despite being hit by sustained winds of 45kts.
Another couple of hours and she'll be through the worst....

Meanwhile back in San Francisco.
GLOVIS SUN has finally arrived off San Francisco. I'm led to believe that she was not expecting to be delayed and when told the delay could now be until next Wednesday, well, you can imagine...
These ships have their schedules planned out months in advance and delays of more than a few hours are comparitively rare and crews strive to get their ship back on schedule as soon as possible. A week's delay is impossible to make up and rebuilding the schedule and confirming all the new bookings will involve an awful lot of work for the office. And then there is the small matter of her Tesla cargo being delayed because the ship was late arriving...ouch $$$$.

The amount of info out there is impressive. Lots more if you want to practice your YouTube fu. There are also several ships that have surprisingly little info as well.

GLOVIS CRYSTAL is just leaving the area of disturbance and has increased speed up to 16 kts.
In order to achieve that speed over the ground in her present position she is probably having to go full speed as there will be a very strong northbound current feeding water to the jet for a few miles yet although the wind will quickly die to zero kts.

Almost there :D
