has anyone tried removing the HEPA filter completely and just relying on the inside cabin filter? i'd imagine that it would just run like any other ac system out there without the biodefense mode? maybe running the filterwears prefilter plus the inside cabin filter would suffice?

Installed with extra weather stripping....... the $20 fix.....hopefully it works.

I am "banking" on your post. Just ordered one myself. it fixes it for us too. My wife keeps telling me to trade it in and buy another S. I told her I am waiting on the 2024 Mini-Refresh S before ordering

you sure this is for 21+ refreshed MS?

It says it does fit, 2021+, but I really don't see it includes the huge under hood HEPA filter. It says Cabin air filter.

Mine is a '17 but was a perfect under hood replacement.

If you have the skunk funk smell it won’t help. It is not the filters that cause the smell.

i just received my filterwears, gonna install it after i get my amazon hepa filter. do you suggest using a can of those cleaners too?

Please not I also "Installed with extra weather stripping" to keep water from running onto it from the base of the windshield.

Was it / is it the under the hood HEPA filter? Ad does say cabin so just verifying

There is a cabin filter inside, and then I have a huge HEPA filter under the frunk. The cabin air filter is recommended changing every 2 years, the HEPA every 3. The HEPA is over $200 from Tesla.

just got a quote today, its 288 before taxes. not sure if that price includes the labor. if it does i'd rather install myself.

took the hepa out and installed the filterwears on the main inlet. so far so good, no smells on fresh air or recirculate. haven’t been in wet or damp conditions yet though.
