90D with 5 seats confirmed for nearly 2 months. What's going on?

VIN listed for my 5 seat X ends in 26311 which is the serial number. Does anyone have a lower number? I've been waiting a long time and also threatened to switch to an S if seats don't fold.

I do not wish to harsh your buzz, the patience of all of us has been tested and tortured, but based on the last 5 numbers of the VIN for my 5 seat Model X, more than 500 5 seat Model X's will be delivered to others before you get yours. However, on a positive note, the manufacturing plant in Fremont appears to have reached a point of efficient and speedy production, and is getting better with each month.
I don't think the threat to switch to an S has such traction with Tesla....unless the "S" stands for Subaru? Scion? Silverado? Saab? Suburban? Suzuki? .........or a really emphatic threat: "I am switching to a Shelby." That would get their attention.

I do have a 24xxx Number! I thought it's because I do have an early reservation since summer 14. but I don't think that's the actual reason. I ordered solid white and this color isn't available any more.
As I'm living in europe I thought 5 seat car will be produced for the first 3 month only for the US. (so that they can get them back quickly if they would have a problem) So I was anticipating waiting 2nd quarter 2017...
but maybe I don't kneed to wait that long again:)

You are providing very interesting data. If your VIN number is 24XXX and the highest reported on this forum is 26311, and that fellow has been "waiting a long time", it's reasonable to extrapolate that there are at least 4K - 6K outstanding orders for 5 seat Model X vehicles. So once production begins, if it has not already, it should be a fairly robust production run encompassing pent up demand as well as robust momentum for new orders for those who see the 5 seat rainbow.

Is it likely that 5 seat Model X orders will be delivered to those closest to Fremont before being sent to places far away? That would not be fair. Of course, I'd like to believe it could be true. When I have my hands on a delivery date for my Model X, with a higher VIN than yours, we will compare notes.

Gotta give props to you patient buyers. The waitings are definitely worth it with all the newest stuff announced.

There was never a non-folding 5 seat configuration. It's the reason the seats were delayed as long as they were.

The 6 and 7 seat configurations still use the same non-folding seats as before in order to allow access to the third row.

Confirmed with my delivery specialist yesterday, and now graphic confirmation on the Design Page. They did it right, even going so far as implementing the 60/40 seat split. Clearly, they respected the now 35 year old SUV design parameters introduced by the Jeep Grand Cherokee back in 1986. Thank goodness.

O now im mad but happy. I have senior executive telling me on recorded call that there are no plans for this folding 5 seater when I was up sold to 6 seater in June. Was I deceived? Do I have recoarse? While I do love my car it has never been the car I originally ordered or wanted. @beths11 you totally win for your perseverance

I feel badly for all those that both wanted a folding five seat X and needed/wanted the Model X ASAP. As a consumer, I dislike Tesla's withholding information to stop people from waiting to order. As a stock holder, I understand they are a small company and unlike Ford "a few" consumers waiting can be a big portion of sales.

@jsollender, the bet, for me, was to stop us from filling the Model X forum with "there will be 5 seats", "there won't be 5 seats" postings and it worked. There is no satisfaction receiving my folding 5 seat X when I know many on this forum will be disappointed because a folding 5 seat X is what they wanted.

I am sure as soon as I pick up my car in May, within a few months, the next great Tesla innovation will occur. I may not have the latest and greatest at that point, but I will have a car from the best energy/automotive company in the world!
