Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Yeah it's not perfect but not bad enough to ruin enjoyment of the vehicle. I'll probably ask Tesla to adjust some panels post Covid-19 lockdown. Luckily we did not have any dents and only a few microscopic scratches. We DID have black marks from -- I'm guessing -- transport tie-downs which we were able to polish out. Overall the paint cleaned up nicely with minimal work.

when you see imperfections from alignments or paint, did you get in writing they were going to fix it post-COVID? what's the quality assurance process upon delivery?

Unfortunately, I don't believe I'll be keeping the vehicle because of all the build quality issues I've found once I had it out in the sun light. I contacted the sales/delivery reps and they told me "it sounds like those are service issues and you should talk to them about it". They did schedule service center appointment and they conveniently scheduled it after the seven days return period. :/ I believe for $74k, the car should be perfect. My $28k 2016 Ford Explorer is built better.

Passenger seat is stained
Spoiler is off on the passenger side
Hanging clips are not working as expected(they get stuck)
Stains on the front inside roof
Driver side interior windshield bar material is not completely finished(seams are busting out)
Screen has reset multiple times for no reason(no software updates occurred)
Glass roof looks to be missing a seal
Panel gap concerns (8)
Front driver side tire rim (scrapes)
Rear passenger side tail light (physical alignment needed)
Front passenger headlight (physical alignment needed)

How many whites did they have, I have a White/Black PUP set to pickup this weekend :)

There were two whites that I could see.

Were there any blue/black LR 19"?

I think I only saw the one getting charged as pictured above.

Tesla has locked the building down and I couldn't get in to see what was hidden in the back service bays or the storage. The show room was emptied so you know they will set one in the lobby.

Those interior pics are just plain sloppy imo.. looks like someone with dirty hands was in there. Could even have been someone from the service center, like they had just greased something then touched everything.. maybe it washes out? I think the spoiler is an easy one as its just taped on... but again, I am OCD I won't tell anyone what they should do with their car, if its going to cause you sleepless nights thinking about it, return it.

BTW those clips seem to be a recurring issue.. probably because they are new parts, not from the 3.. still its such a simple part they should be better.. at least they should be an easy fix.

Nothing in writing but I'm pretty sure they'll make it right. Maybe I'm optimistic. Reality is I got the car for my wife and she won't notice or care about any of these issues.

There was no particular QA process at pickup. Given C19 we did the whole thing in less than 10 minutes.

Unacceptable to me. If you are able to go through the pain on returning that's what I would do vs fighting service forever to try and make it right. If it was just stuff to clean up I'd probably keep it but if you are not happy with the panels I think service is going to struggle to get all those fixed.

i don't even understand the customer servicing for Tesla (this would be my 1st Tesla too):
  • confirmed my schedule delivery for pickup this Saturday in Rocklin, CA
  • confirmed with Nevada delivery specialists that I would be using a cashier's check (got the check ready from the bank)
  • yesterday 3/26 received a call from Rocklin center saying they will deliver to my house Sat and I would need to make full ACH payment prior to delivery
  • no one would pick up when calling multiple times to both Nevada and Rocklin delivery team
  • ACH will take few business days to clear so I'm pretty much screwed? wtf..................

That doesn't matter, you paid 70k for that car, Tesla needs to make things right! I think most of those issues are easily fixed so I wouldn't sweat it, just make sure you get a Tesla loaner car so you get your money worth

What was your VIN #? Just curious if you got one of the 1st off of the line.

Someone from the Rocklin service center will be delivering my car in 20 minutes to my home! I could see if they have any answers for you.

Beaverton Oregon sighting of new Model Y.
I have a model 3, so at first from the front it looked kind of like my car, so I thought, nice car, and waved, and they waved back.
The first thing I noticed was the woman driver was sitting up high and I could see them in their seat, not like looking at a Model 3 driver.

(My wife and I are #stayhomesavelives and went for a walk for exercise and mental health.)

Model Y was beautiful blue
but until I looked at the back as it drove away, and I looked for the "Model X" label that wasn't there, and then I realized,
wait, that's a new Model Y
and then as it drove away I got an overall size compared in my head to Model X
I said out loud excitedly "that was a new Model Y!"

Has anyone else who was supposed to get delivery today had their delivery appointment dusappear?
Mine has disappeared from the account page, replaced with "We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date."

I talked to someone on the phone last night who said it would be in my driveway between 10-5pm today. Not sure if that changed, or just another web site glitch. I guess I'll know one way or another in the next 4 and half hours...

Yikes! Well, I was extremely excite to get my vin# and schedule the delivery for next Tuesday, for the performance version UNTIL.... I saw the vin# and reading about some of the alignments and paint issues. My vin is 03XX, in the 300s. THAT really doesn't makes me worry :(. I see issues in Y's with vin# in the 3xxx. Wondering how many issues I'm gonna find. Still excited, but now also worry.

I’m sure the interior can be cleaned, it’s just frustrating that they provided it to me like this. Also, the clips have the same marks as the front interior so that tells me they knew the clips were fault and didn’t tell me.

I did stop by the dealership today and they told me that all my concerns can be addressed/resolved. As far returning the vehicle, I was told by management that if I return it I cannot order the same model for a year... It sucks because I really enjoy driving the car
