Even though I know that I am at a minimum 3-5 months away from potentially seeing a VIN, I keep checking the account page daily in the hope they've magically assigned me a M3P

I hear ya. I’ve been doing the same, where the sane part of me says “you know there won’t be any changes for you” but the other part of me says ”you never know, it may happen today”.

All I can suggest is the type/colour etc is what he wanted or someone who bought a Y cancelled the 3 and it was his type/colour.

I just got my invoice as well build date confirmed as 15/07/2022

Everything you have gotten I have gotten about 1hr later. I’ll see if the invoice goes that way also.

What I think has happened is RWD was done, then LR and P’s and next will be RWD. My friend ordered a couple of weeks before me in Brisbane is still waiting for her VIN and she ordered a RWD.

Someone mentioned before that I assume makes perfect sense. Tesla needs to clear Q1 reservations with Q3 deliveries, otherwise, the backlog will just become longer and longer.
