Don't quote me on this, but I don't think you need to. If I click on "Overview" in my Tesla account it says my Order has been placed, even though I haven't added any Payment Method. So I presume the Order gets added into the queue when you make your $350 initial payment, and then you can "prepare for delivery" (which is estimated in 5-7 months) by adding the registration / payment method information. I'm not ganna add a Payment method until a month or so before my delivery date.

This is correct however it's not really a queue. As plenty of people have discovered in this thread, your order date doesn't relate to when you'll be getting your car as Tesla has traditionally done builds based to a guesstimate of what customers will be ordering, and then once those cars are built they allocate them in a semi logical manner. It's not a free for all, but not an orderly queue. If you can be patient and settle in for the 5-7 month wait, you'll be fine.

I've never done custom/personalised plates before so I left it as default. Is this what you did and ordered the Black personalised plates later? I've been thinking about getting the black/white classic plates to go with the car rather than the maroon type.
Ive done upto the rego part but have not done the payment part as i am waiting to get closer to delivery. My SA confirmed this is fine and makes no difference to when ill get my car delivered.
The only bonus i have seen with having everything complete is you may pickup someone elses cancelled order due to being denied finance at the last minute, i understand they will pick the next person that's got all their boxes complete.
I don't think you can progress pass step 2. I've got my loan approved on the day I ordered (this was before I know you can do the loan later on... too late I guess), and walked it through with the SA up to where we entered the load as payment amount. Even after this, I am still in step 2.
I think step 3 is where you got the final invoice and VIN, etc and you made the payment to Tesla (and step 4 is delivery).

The data for LR for the first 106 pages has a similar delivery average of 87 days, but the number of confirmed deliveries is small.
The M3P has only had 1 delivery of 117 days.
The ratio of the number of orders RWD: LR: P is 49: 41: 14 and
the number of days 83: 87: 117.
Here is the breakdown of paint and interior colours. There are no suprises here. White ext and black int are the common choices. Looks like the Red RWD are going to be rare, if this trend continues.

Maybe not such a bad thing, a few more days of wait and hopefully new cars will come off the boat in dry weather rather than drenched in the shower. Delivery drivers open doors and get interior wet.looks like the Brisbane port will be closed for a few more days while they clean up debris

This is probably most surprising to me, the number of LR orders in relation to RWDs, the previous years were more like 70:20:10 or thereabouts.
Although the data gathered here is only a partial view of the full story, it suggests that Tesla definitely underestimated the orders for LRs and Ps to the extent quite a few were pushed into Q2 production.
Also noticed the premium multi-coat red is heaps more popular on the LRs and Ps than RWDs, and more people opting for white interiors on the LRs. Definitely interesting data here and thanks to @Tim Brown!
