Has anyone been successful in finding out which ships they are on.
Usually it’s a “best guess” - work out your build date from the invoice, then work your way forward to the likely Armacup vessels or MOLACE vessels.

This is how I guessed mine was in the Don Juan. Once the Don Juan reached the first Australian port (Brisbane), even though it wasn’t unloaded there, my VIN showed up on the RAV site. Finding this helped confirm my guess.

Since then, as the Don Juan has made it to my local port (Port Melbourne) with delays at each stop, the Tesla EDD range updates, tracked against the movements of the ship, meant I’m now 99% sure this is the one I’m on.

I suspect services and other forums that you pay for go through I similar process of deduction, albeit with more historical knowledge.

You can track the location of ships when they’re near the coastline for free with apps like MarineTraffic. You can also view the schedules of incoming and outgoing shipping movements at each Australian port via their respective websites.

Some have tried to figure out which tugboat is used to escort the ship into port, but I think that level of tracking is unnecessary.

I don't have a build date yet as the invoice isn't out yet. Working through the EDD, I can guess it's on morning crystal or the Viking passama, but since we know edds slip, it's not a good enough indication of which ship its on without using a vin tracker.

I have vedaprimes ship tracking service but he doesn't know yet.

I don’t think any paid service / forum has access to VIN-specific information that isn’t available publicly anyway.

If it ends up on a MOLACE ship, MOLACE have a public VIN search page that anyone can enter their VIN into.

Yeah I found that out now, I was of the impression that if you give him a vin you would get tracking info. It seems like just generalised ship information? Not sure I personally see the value in it but.

I don't want to start the whole debate/debacle that's associated with discussing these services (of which I don't subscribe to) but from what I gather is they know where the info is via various sources and can more easily give you a good idea of where it will likely be, much quicker than an inexperienced person could do themselves.
Although, as more people start to share the tracking info/sites (e.g. shipping schedules, VIN searches), it may well get easier for the inexperienced.

Understood, it's neither my intention to start a debate around it, as we've done enough of it. My best guess is if your dates are 16-30dec, and you're in nsw your on the crystal, if you're 19th-31st and you're in Brisbane you are on the passama?
