The next possible Tesla ship after Viking Passama headed back to Shanghai to load up, ETA 29th December in port.. she left Brisbane last night, expected back in Brisbane on the 10th of Jan, Port Kembla on the 14th of Jan and Melbourne on the 17th of Jan.
Delete this now. The last thing Dronus wants to hear is that his car is on the Stink Bug express. This would tip him over the edge. Don't do this before Christmas.

So the final invoice has just been issued. The build date is listed as 25/11/2023 - thought this might be of interest to the keen observers in this forum!
What date did you order the car? Was it the previous model 3 that was auto-updated, or did you jump on the Highland as soon as it was available? Might give us a rough idea of lead time between order date and build date.

I don't think order date is significant to build date. They seem to build them in chunks as soon as they have a shipment date, so they would have built all cars ordered for Australia so far that were being shipped end of that week.

What is amazing is that once they know that BA was going to leave port on 28th November, they start building all the cars just three days prior.
That is just nuts really.

Had a friend visit the Tesla showroom here in Perth yesterday. The SA didn't say too much about delivery timeframe apart from that they expect a large volume of deliveries all at once, and "if you order now you realistically won't have to wait much longer than somebody who ordered on the first day". Lets wait and see!!
As long as i dont have to wait longer than the people who ordered today, im not fussed.
However, being in Adelaide this will not be the case im pretty sure, but it doesnt matter, im in for the long haul.

And, they wont know how international shipping works... so ner

I hope this is true! It does make sense given how many can fit on a ship. How many orders do Tesla Australia receive a month does anyone have a solid number on that?

Does anyone know how they decide how many cars to send and in what configuration?
Do they purely look at all orders and build 1 car exactly per order or do they make a variety based on outstanding orders + popular configurations and then worry about who's car is who's when it's on the way?
