So I headed out yesterday with the kids to buy a birthday present for my wife (which is today).

We ended up at Bing Lee (after getting a portable gazebo at BCF) to get a toaster (she's a practical woman). They had some super cheap TVs on sale and since I needed a couple for the office I though "Why not?".

So 10 minutes later I happily drove away with two 50 inch teles, a 3x3 metre gazebo, a toaster and 2 kids all safely fitted inside the Tesla. The sales guy didn't really understand when I said I could have fitted a microwave in the froot He just shook his head and wandered away.

Isn't it unsafe to transport TVs this way? The screen might shatter under its own weight. Would they have fit if transported upright?

I was told by the warehouse guy once that LCD should be fine. Plasma requires the TV to be upright while transporting /shrug

Yeah, that only really applied to plasma displays.

Ah ok. My LCD TV had that warning on the box. Probably just the manufacturer being extra cautious then.
