Victoria Registrations - the most short sighted legislation of the year award!

So all is well (Thanks Mike). After a long......long phone call referring to the regulation note above and referring to various team leaders etc they have acknowledged a mistake and are sending out a new form....the girl was unable to say if it was only my car or a mistake for all Teslas. I...

Victoria Registrations - the most short sighted legislation of the year award!

Thanks Mike - I'll ring on Monday - looks like it is the written interpretation not the original legislation!

Victoria Registrations - the most short sighted legislation of the year award!

Not worth challenging - worth the $100 for amusement value...I will use it whenever a Victorian poli or bureaucrat is pushing their green credentials. PS - I did put in a "complaint" so will see if this yields anything.

Victoria Registrations - the most short sighted legislation of the year award!

I have received my renewal and no discount so rang Vic Roads. The hybrid discount does not apply to Teslas it only applies to hybrids as defined as driven by "both electricity and fuel"...as the Tesla is electricity only it does not receive the discount! Now this is one of the funniest rulings...

Track Day - Sandown Melbourne Australia 26th July

The track day was a little frustrating. The format was a 20 min session each hour – and the conditions varied between sun, rain and hail so it was important to get a feel for the track on the first lap of each session. So around once, get a good handle on the conditions - give it the boot -...

Cars are not allowed to race each other - or to time themselves .... Not sure about hill climbing - I associate this with lots of mud?

And for those in Melbourne I recommend: Dan http://dansgaragedetailing.com/ He has done most of the Teslas in Melbourne - including the demo cars. Dan also has OCD - very important for a detailer! http://www.detailparadise.com.au/showthread.php?12810-Tesla-Model-S-P85-Multicoat-Red...

Track Day - Sandown Melbourne Australia 26th July

I have booked on Sunday 26 July with Driver Dynamics. There are two other Teslas attending that day - I know one owner but not who the other is. I would like to discuss recharging options - hopefully he/she monitors this site. I have a borrowed 3-phase charger (thanks MP) and will also have...

New Tesla video looks to be shot in Australia

Some original Australian TV cop shows were exported to the US - the chase scenes were inverted so the cars looked like they were on the right side of the road!

The D thread Australia & New Zealand

I was in CA last week and arranged a test drive at the Pasadena Tesla store. I am still buzzed – once the “co-pilot” saw I could drive he changed plans and took me to the hills – great windy road with minimal traffic, apart from the steep drops and rock walls a fantastic place to test drive the...

The environment and our emissions - who cares?

In regard to the source I endorse the move to Powershop - not only cheaper but one company that SUPPORTS the RET - even if it was more expensive I would support it on principle. I just looked at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQpX-9OyEr4 Based on the guestimate from this video the...

    List of confirmed Australian Orders

If I recall correctly the Amsterdam model was to exchange a low charge car for a full one. Obviously this would have to at a depot to make it work. I also can't imagine that a supercharger would not be installed at the depot - not sure how many km hire cars do a day but it would seem silly...

    Body kits.

The one cosmetic body change I considered was to use a carbon fibre wrap on the nose cone (approx. $100). However, with the number plate in place the nose cone doesn't look as shiny as the naked nose cone does.

    TuneIn Radio/digital radio in Australia

Ahaa - a Swedish "red herring". This may be correct for Sweden - somewhat different in Australia. It is a supported technology in Australia, does deliver a better audio experience than TuneIn or Rdio (as well as faster access when changing channels) was on the test cars, was a promised...

    TuneIn Radio/digital radio in Australia

Radio Reception + DAB I am patiently waiting for some resolution for the radio issues of poor AM reception but more importantly no DAB. I was originally told that that was available and it certainly was in the cars that I test drove. I was subsequently told that DAB was disabled as Tesla was...

Aussie Yank, As I posted before to Michael you realise that they are toying with you? The whole delivery issue is a giant experiment: 1. they are analysing each user and developing a curve showing breaking point. 2. This then is compounded by frequent changes to see how you react. 3...

    Issues with the car

wpapua - From a mobile perspective and as you live in the country the technology is dependant on the operator. If you are a Telstra user you would most likely be on NextG/3g which operates on 850mhz and gives the best range. If you are on Telstra it is unlikely that you would be on 2g unless...

    Tesla and Australian Car Sales

Now if I could only find out the Victorian registration figures....I estimate that some 180 cars were brought in up to Dec/Jan. That leaves around 115, some would be NSW registrations in Jan - most would be for the other states.
