You may be able to sell it privately however I've heard Tesla will black list you if you pre sell an order. Just cancel the reservation and let whoever is next in line take the next allocation
You can if someone is willing, but you could find yourself on a blacklist if you sell an order position and not the car after delivery

Great insight. Ok no worries, I will pay and get the car delivered first.
I believe people have been blacklisted for selling even immediately after delivery. And once you're on that list, you're not going to get off. It definitely exists. No soup for you.
But what if I really cannot afford? I'm keen to know what their definition of 'immediately' is. Would be it within a week or a month after delivery?
I may just transfer the car to my family member who wants MY but missed out the early boat.
i think they don't care if you sell the car after it came onto your name , but if you do frequently then they may blacklist based on owner changes pattern

correction: actually got my VIN on 29/06. was too busy getting the finance from the model 3 to this model Y
Why don't you just cancel the order and let the next in line have it - that would seem the honorable thing to do? else it probably looks to Tesla like you have been attempting to scalp.
I spoke with Tesla this morning, they are aware this happens and I don’t believe it is an issue. If you are open to selling we would be more than happy to pay for your allocation as we have a baby on the way and cannot wait for the car on the current wait times
Speak with Tesla and ask someone in the know as opposed to third hand speculation from peoples best friends brother of a cab driver.

Tesla do not care what you do once the vehicle is in your name. You may be flagged for multiple on sales prior to delivery , without genuine reason. They will contact you if necessary.
But don't believe a word I have written just make a phone call to confirm.
Sell away for a profit. Don't cancel and lose your $350. That's a bad business decision when finances are an issue. Good luck
