CHAdeMO adapter wait frustration

Received it today (Mar 30). Tested OK. Those CHAdeMO connectors are sure huge and clunky.

Yep, it really illustrates just how far ahead of the competition Tesla is when you compare the two connectors.

One seems sleek and modern, the other a relic of the 1980's.

Tesla must have ramped up production (or else they don't prioritize their queue).

I ordered my CHAdeMO adapter on Feb 16 and just got it delivered yesterday.

I won't even have my Model S for another 6 weeks!

I dropped a CHAdeMO head on my foot...it slipped right out of the adapter as I was plugging in...and boy, did that hurt!

Be sure to click the head fully into the adapter, to avoid this pain!

Added to waitlist: 2/23/15 #825 and received the email to order on 3/31/15. Ordered the adapter yesterday.

NOTE to WA state residents: EVSE is tax-exempt. Download and complete form, provide to Tesla for sales tax refund. I did this with both a HPWC and Chademo adapter.

Got placed on the waitlist on Feb 24, got my Model S on Mar 27, received email regarding adapter today Apr 1.

I sent an email yesterday about my status and I was told that I was ~850 on the waitlist.

My adapter should be here on Monday.

I'm still waiting for my adapter but could really use one for a mid April road trip.

When did you get on the waitlist? It seems like anyone who got on it before the end of February has already been contacted...

As luck would have it, I got my invite email and ordered it today, right after posting this.

For those travelling thru PA, there are a few Sheetz gas stations that have CHAdeMO chargers now.

The EV charging stations are installed at the following Sheetz sites:

• 4001 Union Deposit Rd., Harrisburg.
• 6054 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg.
• 1781 N. Atherton St., State College.
• 400 E. Plank Rd., Altoona.
• 610 Route 22 Highway West, Blairsville.

I'm lucky to work near the Eaton Power Systems Experience Center which has a number of J1772 chargers as well as a CHAdeMO charger, which I used to test my CHAdeMO adapter. It worked but wasn't a good test, as my battery was already at 80%.

The center is only a mile or so from the Cranberry PA supercharger, so I'm not likely to ever need to use it, but it's great to see what Eaton is offering.

Posted yesterday that I hadn't heard anything yet.
Apparently that made a difference, because I received the "charger available" email today. (Doubt that really made a difference)
Ordered and now anxiously awaiting arrival (I have a great Smoky Mountain day trip planned that pretty much requires CHAdeMo charging to complete)
