My coworker is going to let me test drive his rwd model 3 at lunch today. Hoping that will brighten my spirits.

I've never driven or ridden in one. Only sat in one months ago for about 5 minutes.

Let us know how it is! I think most of us have never driven or ridden in one. Probably a good percent who have never even sat in one. I ordered before ever seeing it in person. First time driving one will be when I pick it up next Saturday.

OMG. I would give you a ride in my AWD version! I have only had it for a day, however, it has been the best day of driving I have ever had.

Pearl White, black int, AWD, 19s...got VIN yesterday 67xxx. It is at CLT service center and they are going to home deliver to SC. They actually called me last week to let me know I was matched and IDA told me he was sending information to someone else then I would get MVPA. Didn't receive anything all week. Got a call from IDA last night and he goes over all same stuff and says that things could get moving more quickly if I could provide payment. Had to remind him I needed MVPA for loan. Got MVPA and vin last night. Few questions (hard to get hold of IDA, voicemail full and no response by email):

1. Is this 67xxx vin too low? Could I be getting a reject?
2. I've been reading on here that home delivery customers have 2 days to reject....is this in writing somewhere?
3. My Credit union cannot electronically send funds but can overnight a check? Does that work?

Here's a fun update... my IDA has been telling me for a week or so all NC deliveries are home delivery now.

But my Tesla account says I have a delivery date Sunday Sept 23 in Charlotte. (which is a 3 hour drive)

My IDA is out of office per his email (I emailed him yesterday to see if he could clear this up).

I called the listed # for Charlotte and I think the VRU dumped me into the generic 800 # for tesla- not positive on that but sure felt like a generic phone support line not a local place.

She said it "looked" like that delivery date was right, then asked me to wait while she reached out to my IDA, whom of course she then couldn't reach.

When I asked if she can at least confirm the car is IN Charlotte right now she said "It's on its way TO the service center in Charlotte"

Which would be true regardless of if I was getting home delivery or picking it up from there. So no real help.

Anybody know a way to insure I can reach someone actually AT the Charlotte location with the VRU options? It'd really suck to drive 3 hours and then get blank stares from folks not expecting me.

Oh- I made a real time visit to Raleigh earlier today.

All they could do was say "Well it says Sunday Charlotte here- but if your IDA said everything is home delivery now it must be true"

On the bright side he claimed he'd be happy to add FSD without impacting my delivery (contradicting what my IDA has been telling me for a month) and that I'd see an updated MVPA once it happens- so maybe that'll actually happen....not holding my breath though.

What is your VIN and config? I will go by on Saturday and look for your car....
 
I had a scheduled pickup in Charlotte for 9/22 at 10:30 they called and told me they changed to home delivery and someone would call me I never received a call for home delivery. I called the IDA this evening and they told me the earliest the car arrives in Charlotte would be the 30th and then a time will be setup after that. Glad I didn’t send my payment in. Poor communication
 
What is your VIN and config? I will go by on Saturday and look for your car....


Thanks! Config is Blue exterior, black interior, AWD (non-P), and EAP- VIN is 64xxx, August 2018 MFG date

(and maybe FSD if the Raleigh guy actually adds it as he promised today- but don't expect that'd make it onto the window sticker even if he actually manages to add it)

I’ve been waiting for my last 2 cars to payoff and close finally after almost 30 days ago, and now clear my on Credit ...which was a joke in itself trying to get conventional dealer peeps to get er done. Now onto my Tesla endeavor lol....tomorrow. Plus I live in SC, and am having to get a tag transferred with Raleigh handling paperwork ...

Don’t get hung up on the VIN. Mine was 68k number and it was manufactured in August of 2018. My delivery was at the service center so I don’t know if the 2 day is on paper so I would just ask them for it. When you send your paperwork to Raleigh (they will send it to you a few days before delivery for you to fill out and FedEx using the overnight label they send you). You can include a bank check with your paperwork if you are not doing it online through your Tesla account. I did mine online as a bank transfer.
 
When I was at Charlotte at the end of August, a delivery specialist told me the cars usually set on the lot for a month before they get delivered. Also stated they do 15 or so a day.... Dont seem like a lot to me.

I wonder if part of the problem is the delivery staff has no incentive to do more deliveries...
