I can understand this. They have regular service job, scheduled appointments so I guess they can probably send only one technician to go over delivered to them Teslas to prepare for delivery to customers. Just guessing.
Yeah, a possible explanation for sure. But why wouldn’t sales say they are awaiting a technician review? Two weeks ago there were about 15, today there was about 40 and the original 15 (from two weeks ago were still there) The dealership and service centers aren’t the same location here. But seems really odd that they would have cars continually being delivered and none of them going out the door in over two weeks… I’ve never seen so many cars at this dealership. But really, anything is possible with this process 🤣

Stopped at the St Louis (Chesterfield) location today and there were about 25 MYs, mostly still with wrap on the front plus another truck offloading. One thing I noted was that they all had chrome door handles and trim instead of the black for 2021s. Has this changed back?

I emailed my SA at the Kitchener Service Centre today about my lack of dates and to see if he could tell me anything. He replied with:
"There has been slight delays in transport due to COVID. We will inform you once the car has crossed the border and is being setup for delivery. We hope to have an update in the near future"

One other thing to mention is that they said they have 150 deliveries scheduled by end of this month and 600 deliveries for June. I couldn’t get feedback as to when that would resume or why.

UPDATE:

Went by my Tesla (dealership?) today in Smithtown. My SA was right on the money. Model Y's for as far as the eye can see. All of them have a build date of 4/29-4/30. VIN's are all above +185000. They are all being held with no VIN assignments.

Looking at the pictures, I don’t see any red model Y 7 seat. I suppose mine is not part of this bunch 🤔

I don’t know if Vaughan shares stock with Kitchener, but their lot was basically full of Ys manufactured in late April

I can confirm they’re moving deliveries to homes. My SA called early last week to tell me they’d drop it off Tuesday. Then Wednesday, then Thursday. Then “there’s a homologation issue and Ys can’t be delivered”.

There are a healthy amount of Ys in Tysons and Rockville near me. Way more than I’ve ever seen before. Will try to take pics tomorrow.

Crazy! I’m in Arlington, so Tyco Tysons Corner will be my delivery location (or to my home? figure with new CDC guidelines it’s not like in the last year … I’m fully vaccinated, so either way). My date range is currently showing June 11-30. But know that means nothing really. LOL.

For the Indy folks, I stopped by Castleton today. The lot is full of Model Y's (didn't check bill dates or VINs since I had the wife and kids in the car). Talked to the order specialist who didn't have any information since I didn't have a VIN number assigned. They were also offloading another truck full of Y's while we were there. I'm assuming once the "glitch" is resolved we should be good to go. We shall see.

My order still shows 5-9 weeks. Been that way for awhile now.

Ordered April 1st - 2021 Model Y LR AWD Pearl White, Black interior, 5-seat, 19" wheels, Tow Hitch, no FSD.
SO glad to hear this. We are 2 hours away and he was there on Tuesday.

I swung by the Tampa location and quite frankly didn’t see a lot there, a handful of vehicles out front, a handful on the side, there could be some in the service side or out back, but it definitely wasn’t overflowing with Ys. I didn’t stop to talk to anyone. I didn’t see my config so I drove on out.
