If you are a DCU member, you can request an auto loan from the web app itself.
If you are not a DCU member, @sgalla04 can refer (as per his signature) or you can join directly by paying to a charity, it should be on their site.

Timeline: After you get VIN/MVPA, you can apply for the loan and upload the MVPA, the important step is to call them, talk to them ask them 1.24% and after approval ask them to send you a picture of your check and FedEx tracking which they do overnight.
Some SC'S will take the check picture as proof if FedEx is going to them.
I had time, I asked them to send it to me.

But the trick is to call them, they are overwhelmed now, so use the feature to call you back, they will call back in 2 hrs or so.
Thank you! They mail you the check directly I assume and it’s made out to Tesla, Inc.? Sorry, first time financing. All previous 10+ cars new & used I’ve paid cash, but with 1.24% it’s a no brainer to hold onto money and invest it instead.

update on timeline. Ordered 5/31, got VIN assigned today, delivery window narrowed to 6/20-6/26.

If you have the MVPA (it should be there in the portal after the VIN assignment), just apply online "but call them" after you fill out the application. They can send the check to you or Tesla. The check is made out to Tesla and it has the VIN# too. I'd prefer the check to be with me than be sent to Tesla

For that low rate is why I rolled the taxes also into it, DCU gives you up to 120% of the Vehicle cost.

Depending on your VIN#, that delivery window will shift to an earlier date (give it a day or two for them to figure out logistics) and in a couple of days, you should get a date to schedule.

No, I’m not insinuating anything, other than my desire to hear all sides. Like I said, the response was unwarranted and the manager should have stepped in to de-escalate the situation rather than threaten to call police on a customer.

Sounds like the entire situation spiraled and got bad very quickly, and that makes me wonder what’s the backstory on others involved to drive that sort of reaction. Again, report it to corporate.
Probably some video somewhere if it happened on Tesla property. Might even have sound. Most establishments that have new vehicles on the lot have surveillance systems.

Look - I don't need to lie about this.

End of the day - there is no excuse for the way I was treated by their detail staff, managers and delivery specialists.

I have bought 100s of cars throughout my life, and never had this kind of interaction. Are you insinuating something? This is a Tesla - not a Lamborghini. Lambo/Rolls Royce/Bentley come to my house to pick up my cars for service and not once has a porter/detail tech/service tech/etc said they're willing to take an assault charge for telling them not to touch my property, and let alone the managers stand by idle and watch.

This is my first and last Tesla. Trading this in for a G63. I don't know why I bothered wasting my time. Terrible brand and terrible service.
Yikes

Thanks. Ironically I can’t afford a sooner delivery window. Need delivery to happen after 6/22, keeping fingers crossed lol

Scheduled to take delivery next Monday.
Of course my trade-in value expired today... BUT I just got my new offer and it stayed the same.

The "pay-off" amount quoted on the offer stayed the same but in actuality is lower now because I've made another payment on the vehicle.
I'm guessing that Tesla will still pay the original payoff amount and I'll get a check refund for the overpayment?

  • Trade-in (I said no trade and had SA update it after receiving a VIN, otherwise I'd have to rerun an assessment after 30 days)
  • Finance/Cash/Lease (I said cash and had SA update to finance after receiving a VIN, otherwise I'd have to have a 2nd credit check knowing it would expire after 30 days)
  • Insurance if your state allows without a VIN. (In PA you need a VIN, so I didn't have to submit insurance info until right before payment)
Thank you for your PM. Unfortunately I'm still too new and it won't let me reply to your message. Did Tesla match DCU 1.24 for you? Who was the actual lender through Tesla? I assume not signing the paperwork with DCU automatically cancels your intent to move forward with their loan?

Folks have mentioned both Chase and Wells Fargo as lenders who have matched the 1.49% rate at DCU via Tesla’s match program. However, neither WF nor Chase will come close to that number if you try to apply to them directly.

Since I am a new joiner, I am not able to send the PM. I cannot find the link on their side on how to pay to a charity to obtain the membership. Can someone shed some light on this?

Anyone who got there cars delivered, can you answer this. When you accept the vision terms and you get a vin and get new delivery date. Which is usually a 3-4 day. Does that mean the delivery truck will get there between those dates with your car ? Or is that when you usually pick up your car at service center.
I have a Scheduled Delivery Date of July 14 and the car is still on the freight to the SC. According to my SA it might arrive only by Sunday.

I contacted my SA, and he was able adjust the payoff amount prior to delivery. In any event, you should receive a check for any funds due to you.

Just start going through the member application and there’s a place to check something like “I will become a member during application by joining a group” or whatever. You can literally pay $10 via credit card as part of joining. Kind of a sham, but whatever.

You can follow this thread - Best interest rate via Tesla financing?
Answers to two of your questions and more info about DCU, including my thoughts about DCU and CUs in general.

My 2 cents - Bhai, DCU is better than any bank out there.
