Did you get free SuperCharging and Award Credit after upgrading to P3D?

Has anyone who has changed their order after deposit from LR, or AWD to P3D using their own referral code (so self-referring, which you can do) gotten their car, and it was delivered with free Supercharging, and seen the reward in their Loot Box (via the app)?

I am not talking about canceling your existing reservation and then placing a new order, but by making changes by talking to sales, or delivery specialists.

I am being told by my IDA (Inside Delivery Advisor) that my referral code has been applied, and this is verbatim from her email:

"Per my text message, please consider this a confirmation that your referral code has in fact been applied. This will not show in your Tesla account—so feel free to reassure yourself at the Tesla service center day of pick-up of your Performance Model 3."

The italics is my emphasis.

I mean what??? This will not show in your Tesla account? Her next sentence is not reassuring at all, either.

Right now, it is like the salesman that tells you something, and maybe they wholeheartedly mean it, but then the manager comes out after the deal is signed and says that the salesperson didn't have the authority to say that my referral was applied and that I get the Supercharging for life and first reward.

Management denies it, and they have the MVPA (motor vehicle purchase agreement), that does not reference it, and they are going to follow the contract.

Based on a post about someone else who was trading in two cars (verbally agreed to, even by managers), but now Tesla says only one, because that's the new policy, he is SOL.

So, long post to ask, has anyone gotten there referral applied the way I outlined at the beginning of this post, and did it show up in writing or in your loot box?

Oh, and they really, really want me to pay for the car now too. I wonder why?

I've been dealing with the same thing and I DID cancel and re-place the order with the referral (and 2nd deposit) and NOTHING shows up any where.
A friend of a Model 3 referred my Friend that bought a Model 3 (whom is my referral). They both have cars (non performance) but they show nothing for referrals of any kind.

It's very frustrating and all I have is a similar email to yours.

I was told that any order for performance with or without referral will get free supercharging. So basically they are telling me I canceled my older order for nothing.

I created a separate thread on the topic.

Referrals on Model 3 don't exist !!

1) I changed order to P in July, before free supercharging announced. Have been assured by delivery rep that “a case has been submitted to put free lifetime supercharging on car”. Will confirm on delivery.
2) Do not pre pay. Bring cashiers check for balance to delivery. Inspect car before you hand over check. That is just good business. Of course Tesla wants ACH payment in advance. That is good business for them. But don’t do it.

Problem is you might not be able to confirm on delivery.

Can you explain payment thing more. I have no loan or trade.

Here’s the deal. I’ve had a Tesla since 2012. With my 3P I will have 3 of them. They have never failed to address administrative questions like this, and I’ve had a few. Ive always been treated equitably. There’s no way they will stop to change their systems to incorporate a temporary promotion. I trust them, and if there’s a glitch, I have dated emails to confirm order change date etc.

Regarding payment: mytesla will try to get you to pay using ACH before delivery. But you can also pay with bank cashiers check at delivery. Use common sense when making this decision. If car has any flaws or issues at delivery, a check in hand puts you in a better position to stipulate repairs or reject car. This precaution is not just for Tesla, but ANY car.

I ordered a P3+ on August 4 using a second day one reservation. Because I entered the order system from my reservation page, there was no place in the process to enter my referral code. I placed the order anyways and figured I would take care of the referral and lifetime SC later.

I sent an email to my local delivery center contact on August 8 asking for it to be added, and they made a request in the system on my account.

I took delivery on August 18; the car was perfect, and yet there was no referral or lifetime SC on my account for the car.

Sometime in the beginning of the second week in September (from what I can remember), my account showed the referral. This was before the Sept. 16 deadline came and went. I still do not have lifetime SC showing, so I will keep working on that.

I think it just takes time, as the crunch of orders leading up to Sept. 16 was pretty overwhelming...

With all the problems you see lately and some of us being new to Tesla we have no past history to go by.
How many times have you been burned by a "rebate" (oh you forgot to check this box, you forgot to sign the form etc.)
Like you said with cashiers check. It's just common sense practice to want some proof, for something that is potentially worth $1000's

If they "promised" a perfect car at delivery in an email would you trust them for that and pay ahead of time?
Sounds like you don't trust them for that ;)

I agree they probably didn't change enough of the system to handle the temporary promotion. It just looks like it from the "outside".

The primary reason for my going with performance (and how I got it past the boss) was free supercharging. If for some reason it was shown to not happen I'd refuse the car. So it's a pretty big deal for me, I certainly would not want to be in that position. If I still have no proof at delivery, I will take my chances it will happen. I did everything to the letter.

What is "ACH"?

I ordered the P3D without using referral. Within 5 mins I spotted my mistake and emailed the sales advisor with my friend's referral code. He said that he has filed a ticket and it will be applied manually. I checked again with my delivery specialist and it was confirmed again that as long as the ticket is in, you're good.

Two days before delivery, I went to the Fremont parking lot sales because I wanted to change the ext/interior color. I got the car I want and I asked the gal there to make sure my referral code is applied. She told me they are applying them by hand and it will take awhile to get sorted out. 3 days after delivery, my friend confirmed that he sees my order in his treasure box.

However, when I check mytesla, it still says Supercharger pay per use. The delivery specialist told me that they will refund any of my supercharging usage and not to worry about it.

Honestly I would not worry about it if you have it in writing. 3 years of owning Teslas and dealing with them has earned my trust.

Btw, you don't need to pay ACH, you can show up with a local bank's cashier's check and give it to them if you wish. My delivery specialist actually told me to use the cashier's check because ACH could take 1 day or 2 to clear anyways.

ACH stands for Automated Clearing House, it is a direct transfer from you Bank to whoever you designate via bank and checking account routing numbers. Tesla prefers this, since, well they have the money and you are far more likely to accept a car, and accept a due bill from them for repairs/corrections as needed.

Here's the thing, if the system doesn't say that you have the free SuperCharging at PickUp, then how can they even write a due bill?

I'm in your exact boat. Ordered a AWD originally, changed to RWD and then to P. My DA also emailed me stating it was confirmed applied to my account but I have set to see any reference to it. They've had my vehicle over a week in Costa Mesa. So now it's turned to unacceptable that I haven't picked it, from their point of view.

A simple email confirming free SC with your order number on it is all one would need to insure you will get it.
Nope, not necessarily. See this post about how a guy was told by sales that he could trade in two cars by sales, but when the time came, they said no:
Tesla promised to take 2 cars in trade...now 10 days before delivery refuses!

My issue, is a salesperson, or delivery specialist is saying I am getting something, but can't provide one shred of evidence that I am getting it other than her email stating so. What if she stated that I would get a $10,000 discount if I do my ACH transfer right now? Or, what if I get free white seats, etc.

Based on reading on this site, people are not getting it, and its turning into a litany of promise, we'll take care of it. Will they? I don't know.

That is why I asked the original question, if anyone has gotten their free Supercharging, and if they self-referred, did they get credit for it in their loot box.

Do I have to have those things? No, but they offered the deal up, and I was swayed from AWD to P3D. They may be getting an extra $15K from me, because of their offer.

They created a trigger, and I pulled it.

Picked up my P3 yesterday. My Tesla account also says "Pay per use" supercharging for the new car but I'm not going to worry about it. It must be a display issue. Everyone knows the P cars got free supercharging. I think they just are playing catch-up on the UI following the expiration of the referral program on the 16th.

I think the key difference on this item versus the others, is that many others have experienced the same scenario as you and have reported a successful resolution to the free supercharging question (i.e. it'll show up later or that they'll clear the charges once they determine that you qualify for free supercharging which should be evident by your order date and/or referral).

The other items that are more unique to each customer and promised by a DA/sales etc. should definitely be in writing and not be trusted until it has been written down as such in a MVPA or like type contract.

Why haven't you picked up your P3D yet? What was your configuration? I'm still upset that they have my money and my delivery date has been delayed for a whole month with almost zero communication.

I think my advisor passed my VIN to someone else handing over $76K. So I am in the line again. I only hear from them when the want he money.
